    Now it's been mentioned that the zerglings look more "locust swarmish" than what they did before.

    They've been less scaly, tailed, and now are heading towards insect-like in terms of appearance (zerglings at least)

    What i'd like to point out was that when i first played starcraft, i actually thought that the alien protoss were insect like.

    Dragons walked kinda like spiders...in that they skittered.
    Reavers were slug-like in the way they kinda undulated across the battlefield slowly.
    Carrier : Hornet's nest..anyone???

    The protoss were meant to be disclipined, psi-powered aliens, but at first i thoguht they worshiped insects!

    Did anyone else bring this up ?

    Um, strange point of view, yet intersting. I would like zerg to keep their reptilian look, it suits them.

    Remember they are evolving, i like the addition of small winds on the zerglings, if you noticed in the video this allows them to jump over small obstetricals like other zerglings so they can get in and attack instead of running around like they use to, much like the reason for the protoss charge.

    Zerg always reminded me of insects. They always reminded me of the cockroach infestation that i had in my cupboard once. Zerg reproduces very very fast, and they pretty much infest anything that lives. Sounds like bugs to me ;)

    That's very interesting point you brought up, dragoons look like spider, reaver is like a catapillar, carrier like a hornet's nest (LOL). Also the shuttle looks like those horseshoe crabs.

    I don't like the new insect look for zerglings and zerg in general. I like to see them more like reptiles. I mean with the ultralisk and lurker and guardian and devourver it wouldn't be looking like insects

    Zergs were bugs and always bugs. Reptiles dont grow that fast, and bugs can create 100 babies in one day *in a real life perspective*.

    hmm a lot of good feedback.

    I agree that insects of course breed a lot faster (zerg like) but i'm strictly talking about artistic physiological direction...as in teeth = reptile .. mandible parts = insects. Protoss units have no mouths :p

    Zerg has always been a mixture of the 2.. and its nice to see protoss heading towards a more "egyptian" arcanic style ---> immortals at least. They have that striped chin thingy that pharoahs have

    Interesting thought. When you think about it though they are both created by the Xel'Naga so it would make sense if they were both similar in one way or another.

    This is from the starcraft 2 main site, a image of a zergling on the far right corner, its head still looks kinda reptillian.

    Umm I thought that was an Ultralisk not a zergling. If you see it move its head it has horns much like the original ultra.

    I also think it looks more like an Ultralisk than a Zergling, those horn things also gave me the same impression. I have always thought of the zerg as a sort of manageri of different creatures that they had incorporated over their journey across space. I always thought of them more as parasitic insect like creatures than reptiles. The Ultralisk-like thing in the window does have teeth and jaws and, obviously, not mandibles or pinchers, therefore not very insect-like, but it doesnt come off as reptile either. Definetely can't wait to see what the rest of the Zerg turn out like.

    Zerg has always been a lot of things. Not just insects or reptiles.

    Drone = moth with pincers/claws
    Ling = dino dog
    Hydra = snake + mantis
    Lurker = spider
    Ovie = jelly fish
    Muta = shrimp with bat wings
    Scourge = bat/butterfly
    Guardian = crab
    Devourer = nautilus
    Defiler = centipede
    Ultra = stag beetle
    Broodling = some kinda insect

    I don't know what the hell queens resemble.

    haha ling = dino dog

    "Looks like you mashed some poor fella's dog Sarge."

    I think it's an ultralisk. If you look at the SC: ghost trailer with that big battle scene, you can see the ultralisk and it looks just like the pic above.

    Whatever that zerg thing is it looks like a pit bull.
    Although I do see kaiser blades there which would make it an ultralisk.

    Based on my observations of looking at the zerg thing I think that it is definitely a zergling because the blades by its mouth are way to small for an ultralisk and it has those claws above its head like a zergling.

    I have to agree with some of the above posters, the Zerg has always been am mix. A mix of all the unwantable and repulsive creatures on planet Earth :D. But then on steroids. I do like the new look for lings though. And remember, the Zerg are always evolving.
