Last year I was watching the Mengsk speech at the end of the terran campaign and noticed that whenever the video changed to a clip of the zerg, that his voice gained the echo of the voice of the overmind. I think Mengsk is infested. Plus, I just finished reading "Changeling" on Starcraft 2's website, and it seems to all make sense.
That was for dramatic effect, but you do bring up an interesting idea for SC2. What if mengsk got infected, how would this change the sector?
I've always thought that was because of how the Zerg heard his broadcast, simple as that. If he was infected at that point, lot of stuff do not make sense.
As GMG said I also believed he has a weird voice because of how the Zerg heard his broadcast. But continue your cinematic and you'll notice he also has the voice of a Protoss when we see a Carrier with a couple of scouts in the space. Hear well and you'll notice the difference between Mengsk's Zerg voice and Mengsk's Protoss voice. So Mengsk is just a Terran, a human being. It is better like this else it would have ben very weird in the storyline.
Infested mengsk is a good idea....but the zergy voice in the final cinematic was not intended to hint to an infested mengsk....i personally think that mengsk should remain human to keep the lore balanced...my theory is that mengsk is the living proof that u dont need to be infested to be as evil as kerrigan is
bah, this is sf, not fantasy. Fantasy has alignments, Science fiction either has naive but good, asshat but good, those that believe utopia justifies the means, People believing that they are superior and know what is best and people who are beyond good and evil. At least, thats how it usually is.
oh, and aliens with biological instincts. I don't really know W40K, but i suppose that would be the tyranid?
