This idea was based on my idea that the zerg way of getting units should be they go around and assimilate them: Everyone remember the lovable criters from sc1, oh yes good times, there was the giant polar bear thing, and the scorpian thing and even the giant purple bird thing and most likely each one had a small defensive attack to protect it from its enemies BUT they might be the source for some of the zergs new breeds as you must remember the hydralisk, zergling, and even ultralisk were once just normal animals going about there normal tasks untill the zerg came so maybe kerrigan (in an atempt to find new breeds) goes after them. With zerg genetic alteration even the polar bear thing could become a powerful unit, and remember the ultralisk was modified from a giant peaceful plant eater.
I always parasited the critters to get their point of view and see enemies coming already. So it's not like it's a brand new concept. Perhaps if you can do more about the critters than just seeing through their eyes, but I wouldn't know what it would be.
The Zerg did not assimilate those critters into the swarm for a reason. They did not possess the qualities desired by the Zerg and they blew up when clicked on incessantly. Who wants something that will blow up?! Oh wait... There were scourges and infested terrans... My bad!
