You can divide by 0, you just need to use infinity. [/U]

    ±infinity

    NERD ALERT:

According to hyperbola graphs (y=1/x), as x approaches '0', y approaches infinity. As soon as y reaches infinity, x will reach '0', and we will be left with infinity=1/0.
Going by this logic, 1/infinity=0, which makes sense, seeing as because infinity has no limit, the 1 (doesn't have to be one, will work with any number) will, in effect, become insignificant, and thus the whole equation will equal zero.
However, also according to this initial statement, infinityx0=1, WHICH MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE WHAT-SO-EVER! Therefore, 1/0 cannot equal infinity, and as a result, is undefined.

It is impossible to divide by zero.

What if it's a very high value of zero?

    If 1/0=ijffdrie;
    KNOWN: 1/0= does not exist
    therefor, ijfffdrie=DNE
Thus, ijffdrie does not exist, and therefor has no shorts for existence to eat :)

Also, if he somehow exists, maybe the universe is waiting to fb(fb='feed back' for you noobs out there) you when u turn 15?

Either that or a low value of infinity. :p

No, it would have to be a high value of zero, as ? is undefined.

But 0 is defined, so its value cannot be changed.

actually, we've also studied that in analytic geometry where 1/inf is = 0
and that 1/0 = i (imaginary), so i guess 1/0 is also inf.

It doesn't need to make sense, it just needs to be a number.

That means that 0 times infinity equals one! ARRGH!
Remember, just because infinity isn't a number, it doesn't mean that it can't be used in attempted intelligent conversations on an unrelated forum's junk board.

How I see it, 1/inf approaches zero. As the demoninator gets larger, the distance from zero gets smaller. Thus, as the denominator goes to infinate, the space becomes infinately small.

(god, it's the whole .9999=1 thing all over again)

That's true, and it makes sense. However when multiplying 1/0=infinity by 0, you're left with 1=infinityx0 , which is false, and makes no sense. I know all about how 1/infinite approaches 0 and how 1/0 approaches infinity, but they never will equal 0 or infinity. On a hyperbola graph, the lines will never touch or cross the x or y axis.
