I have a wireless router set up (i think) with my desktop that's running windows 7 which is directly connected to the wireless router via an ethernet cable. The wireless router is connected to a modem recently installed in the apartment.

I have another desktop running on windows XP in another room with a wireless N network adapter connected to it which works fine because other networks show up in the list of available wireless networks, however the profile I created for my wireless router does NOT show up in this list.

Possible fixes/solutions? I've already pinged the router from my desktop that needs to connect and got 4 sent and 4 replies with 0 lost.

If you need any more information to better assist me, feel free to ask.

Thanks for any answers that help me come closer to a solution.

P.S. I've tried calling the cisco tech support number but they suck at customer service. That and my phone gets no signal in this apartment...

Found a solution shortly after posting this thread... I changed the channel of the router from 6 to 11 and I was able to see it in the list of available networks...

yeah the best channels to use would be either 1, 6 or 11. If you ever have any other problems, log into the router and check your settings there, make sure the network is secured and not hidden. If you ever run in to a dead end simply hard reset the router and start from scratch
