Am I the only one amazed at how detailed Blizzard is making StarCraft II out to be? The smallest things, such as doodads are incredible. http://vilegaming.com/screenshots.x/110 http://vilegaming.com/screenshots.x/111 You really could make some interesting UMS movie maps out of this game.
Good graphism needs powerful computer ! No problem for me .... One question : will the doodads, here the miniers, the men who recolt and defend those galeries, be playable ? Will they do something while there will be battles there ? Or will those men not move ?
In the campaign they might fight and such, but on non-ums maps they should work like Ursadons, but with different AI. I don't think that miners will be that common on non-ums maps though.
When it comes to the maps, civilians, buildings, Mr Garison and other map tools and uits such as walls, operating gates, base defense systems, I think Blizzard Activision can learn alot from Electronic Arts, especially the tiberian Sun, Tiberium Wars series... We need to build a fortress and a strong base with superior defence mechanisms and wall/gate security structures, like cement for example, in Tiberian Sun you can lay cement to prevent un-authorised access from subterranean units, also your computer system has a voice that repeatidly sounds "sub-terranian unit detected" or "incoming missile" etc... SO Blizzard can learn a little from its' competitors although financially EA isnt going too well atm...EA said Tuesday its loss for the quarter ended June 30 totaled $95 million, or 30 cents per share, compared with a loss of $132 million, or 42 cents a share, a year earlier... Saracen.
erh.. ;p Ahem, so yeah i wouldnt really agree that those pictures are a good example of how REALLY deep blizzard can go with doodads ;D, there is what? like 6 doodads and a wall terrain piece in that shot? You want good example: go watch the very first gameplay trailer released - with the protoss etc, the opening scene with the phase prisms is jaw dropping ;o. Really guys, i suggest you check out some of the features in wc3's editor or atleast look at some of the campaigns, mods, and crazy tools its userbase has created, before you even begin to imagine what sc2's editor will be capable of ;D.
