So, cool stuff, but randomness. Apparently there's a jellyfish that is effectively immortal.

Normally, after laying eggs, jellyfish die off. Well this one, called Turritopsis nutricula reverts to a sexually immature stage, a polyp. Now, this basically means after having kids, it itself becomes a kid again. Yes, that's right. It gets younger.

    Holy crap.

    That's not immortality...

...But on related lines I've heard that tadpoles, if you don't feed them, lose their ability to mature into frogs. Whether that means they die of old age as a tadpole or not, I'm not sure, but still...

I'm pretty sure your GF would not enjoy having her BF revert to a kid after having sex. Or the other way around.

Your not effectively immortal unless you are physically immortal. Not subject to any disease, aging or getting speared by a Japanese whaler.

Nope, this is as immortal as immortal gets, your ^ version is more like ''invincible''

I also heard of some crabs or stuff which never age :( their cells somehow keep on renewing themselves (while ours stop doing that after a while) so they only die if they get killed by something.

So immortal means you just can't die by aging means. But can still get killed.

Immortal means you will not die by any sort of natural cause, or any kind of illness.

    Immortal–adjective
    1. not mortal; not liable or subject to death; undying: our immortal souls.
    2. remembered or celebrated through all time: the immortal words of Lincoln.
    3. not liable to perish or decay; imperishable; everlasting.
    4. perpetual; lasting; constant: an immortal enemy.
    5. of or pertaining to immortal beings or immortality.
    6. (of a laboratory-cultured cell line) capable of dividing indefinitely.

(I'm sure a jellyfish can get sick and die, or ripped in half and die)

    Invincible
    –adjective
    1. incapable of being conquered, defeated, or subdued.
    2. insuperable; insurmountable: invincible difficulties.

(lots of things can conquer jellyfishes)
    ----------------------

I believe the closest word you guys are looking for is Ageless

    Ageless –adjective
    1. not aging or appearing to age.
    2. lasting forever; eternal; undying: the ageless beauty of Greek sculpture.

there is probably a better word, but I can't think of it

Compare 3 of immortal, and 2 of ageless.

Well there are several different definitions for each word. That's why I underlined def. 1 of ageless, it seems to fit the jellyfish the best out of all the ones given, thus I chose ageless.

Ageless and Immortal are one and the same.
