Im In a Predicament

on one side- play starcraft and risk getting depressed after lossing multiple games(like, 90% of them)

on the other side- don't play starcraft and dont risk hating myself





as im sure some of you know, I haven't been on b.net much in a past few days. Mainly due to that I get cases of depression after b.net runs after losing to pretty much every other Clan Empire member. It was ok at first, but now I just don't feel the fun of doing it anymore, I suck and other people get bored when being obs in games I play.

My main issue is, I'm a watcher. I like watching fights more than having to mess with things like macro, unit production, ect. When a fight starts, thats all I care about.

So, my problem is, do I play SC and risk getting depressed, or not play at all and try to find something else to do with my time?

 

Why don't you play (or play more) UMS maps?
Its a change from the same old top vs bottom or 1v1s and there are plenty of fun ones.

The only downside is that you might get a little rusty from not playing normal maps.

 

You should play me, i'm sure that guaranteed win will make you feel better.

 

I've played several E members and I can tell you their skill levels are largely varied - I think you could find someone on your level. Try Shadow for example p).

My next piece of advice is not to play strangers. Ever. Example, I enter a UMS game and there are 4 spectators and 2 players including me. I ask if they want me to spectate because I'm mediocre at best and I get banned. Way too many pricks out there I tell you.

Alternatively you can play better people who are willing to help you improve. It's actually worth it because playing high standard competitive games is better than watching.

 

hey u have the same problem i do i also like 2 watch the fight and as i watch i stop producing unit
just dont get descurage take it as a learning experience like i do and i sure with time u will get better is just that we clan menber r hardcore gamer we wont take it easy on you just because im sure if u go public u might get some wins also trust me eon dont give up keep at it and i knw u will get there someday ,hey u beat me once and u beat lolreally n dark so just kepp at it n i knw u could add on to the list some more names n take every game as a learning experince n adapt to wat u did wrong and try to watch replay to see where u went wrong

I mean I shouldn't start giving advice to him because apparently he's better than me. I played lolreally yesterday, and although I wasn't mowed down as bad as by starburst, I lost nontheless.

Take my advice, Dont quit the clan and dont quit starcraft.

theres always plenty to do, you can watch games that people play or play UMS like kuv said. I was in your position, and then i started playing lots of UMS till this guy trained me to play. I still suck, but im better than i used to be, you just need to find your fortay, just have fun!!! thats the main objective in the clan.

What games are you playing? If it's normal games like melee you're playing, just switch to some UMS games like Crash RPG, Special Forces, Custom Hero Wars, Storm the Fort, etc. Those are great fun because most of the time you only have to focus on your hero, which is easier than jumping back-and-forth between units and buildings. In any case, I'm sure a lot of Clan Empire members would be willing to help you (Heck, I'm willing to help too )

 

omfg, I hated special forces until my friend taught me it, now im addicted to SF!!!

Eon, you can always play fastest

The transition from fastest to melee is now ez, and it does take time and about 100 losses

When i made the switch, the guy i was facing who was training me was a B+ in ICCUP, and he taught me all the knicks and knacks about SC.

Economy, micro, macro, BO's, how to properly D up, how to attack, when to attack, what to attack with, etc etc, always move my mouse!!!

It just takes lots of practice, even though i lost to him 50+ times, i beat him 7 times in all the games we played. But before that, all i would play was UMS and some fastest with members or even a melee game.

If you truly want to get better, review replays, as stupid as it sounds, its the best way to lern, find out when you went wrong, how you could improve and try it next time.

Theirs always room for improvement. If your wondering why im making such a big deal about this, it's becuase i hate to see active good members leave becuase they cant win in the game, the clan isnt all about wining and gaming, its all about fun and having fun. I dont play much games, but i do enjoy a game every now and then, as wish will tell you, and i usually just ChatCraft.

So just have fun, dont quit, dont leave the dark side of the force!! :yes:

Thats why you wont get better, you give up to easily. Same goes to you Eon, the whole clan is backing you up, its part of Team Empire, its up to you to take it.

 

He beat steve sure, but it was luck for that game. Steve(LolReally) is I would say, the best playing in our clan.

He did beat me though fairly. Damned bastard took out 6 of my expos.

Eon, I suggest you find someone in the clan good at terran, to teach you what you need to do. Like say Haze.

 

Close to Boy[E] and sure a lot of times i feel like eon me and steve are like 2-5 him 5 'o' but of course with practice you always get better! Idk eon apperantly says he doesen't but i don't think its true. In all cases, ask for training ;D We would be glad to help

 

Dude, you beat Lol? Gratz on that, hes clsoe to impossible for me, id have to cheese most likely, but i always lose when muta harass comes up, hes got great muta micro

its does not matter if it was tvsz or not he beat him him and that is i can even beat steve when he toss the only chance i have is when hes terran

I won because he wasn't expecting wraiths/bc, which apparently you're not supposed to use in TvP. Still took about 90 minutes though.

As for playing, I'm not even sure what race to tick with, terran is good, but I dont like using Terran. I like zerg, but as I'm bad using mutas and lurkers, there's not really anything I can do with them in terms of harassment. Protoss is good, but I've got no experience with them in 1v1.

UMS maps: I play those, but fastest maps are the reason I suck so much at normal maps.
