yes, I finally finished Death Note, quite an epic series style: anime genre: hard to describe Subject: a guy who can kill someone by writing their name in a notebook and thinking of their face story: Just awesome, the end of every story arc was worked towards perfectly This gets an A- Characters: The main characters, Kira, L and later Near(Loved how they combined him being a kid with him being the worlds smartest detective) were quite interesting, but the supporting characters didnt really work for me, especially Misa i'd have to go for a C+ or a B- humour: occasionaly a little gag, but nothing mentionable other stuff: when you say Death note, you say awesome scenes. The guys who made this actually made writing on a piece of paper something epic. I can think of about a dozen scenes which hade me gaping in amazement overall grade; A-
Santa won't make it this year.... Awesome show, but it kind of dropped off when you know what happened in episode 25. I like to think the live action movie has the intended plot, where you know what happens differently. There's a lot of talk and speculation about how the entire second half of the manga (which is basically the events after episode 25, but really drawn out to be longer) was just to stretch the series and make more money. At least in the anime they toned it down. And Near is the worlds fourth smartest detective, behind L three times. Only when Mello helped him out could he compare to L. Also, wtf is up with Matt?
I've watched a few episodes, and that live-action movie which mirrored Season 1. However, instead of becoming a big fan after watching it, I watched my roomate as he attempted to eat an apple in as few bites as possible. The record is 3 bites without any chewing, 2 with 1-2 chews per bite of apple. Now Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, that is a series I would seriously consider watching start-to-finish, and I do NOT watch anime with commitment 95% of the time.
This show is what brought me in to the anime world. This series is probably my absolute favourite form of moving picture of anything anywhere at anytime in anyplace. I would recommend it for anybody who has ever heard of video recording. The sheer brilliance of the entire story, the depth of the characters... ...and this love is all for the english dubs. If I could understand them, I'm sure I would cream multiple times watching through the actual ones.
Haven't seen it, but I read the manga, which was good. EMR, I'd rather dump the dubs and bring in the subs.
actually i thought some of the concepts after 25 were very cool, especially the church of Kira and the eliminate guy his death wasnt cool though, the reason he got caught was kinda lame so, what should i watch now?(in-between watching x-files)
