    First and foremost, I LOVE the idea of a massive assault mech dishing out lots o' damage, but since it's either going to get changed or scrapped, I'll put up my idea for the Thor...hope it's worth a shot :p

    My idea would be that the Thor gets a massive AoE melee attack with a somewhat long cool down time and lots of animations. Imagine the Thor smashing the ground with its arms, knocking down large units sending small units flying into the air all around it; the Thor can then grab surviving units and beat the living crap out of 'em. To balance this the Thor will get no conventional ranged weapons.

    Now the interesting part is that instead of the bombardment ability and particle accelerators, the Thor gets a special ability to manipulate gravity using umm... gravity manipulators attached to its arms. Using it, the Thor can 'suck' units that are engaging it at range, fast moving units like the Cobra, and air units (imagine a Thor pulling a mothership to the ground) towards him or smash them against walls, the ground or throw them into the water, or where ever the player sees fit. This could implimented as SC2's got a physics engine. The player can set the trajectory using a mouse, by activating the ability and click the unit in question be it enemy or ally and click anywhere in the vicinity of the Thor and BAM! For balance's sake, let's make the 'gravity manipulator' a prototype and has to be indivisually upgraded onto Thors and make it costly. The ability should have a long cool down time and the Thor will be more vulnerable to damage; as it is a prototype equipment it will get a 20% chance of failing, where the targeted unit will not be picked up, and a 5% chance of breakdown, where the Thor explodes or implodes, damaging any units around it, and when it does explode it'll be awesome if it will say something like, "Oh SHI..." with the last syllable muffled by the explosion ;D

    So, what do y'all think?

    Heh, nice try, i can see you were very exited writing this but i have to say nay.

    Its just doesnt look like it fits starcraft, very far fetched, very unprobable, throwing units in the water or space? No way...

    Pulling a Mothership to the ground? Um...overpowered? And smashing units like that makes it sound like the Incredible Hulk.

    Its just not what terrans are.

    Might as well paint this thing green and give it a big rope.

    i still think the thor's spical ablity shoud be like asuper charge ablity and it fires a shit loud of fire at (RANDOM) targets. it would be like the Heavy-Arms from Gundam wing. If that dosent fly with the people, i suggest the thor be a moving bunker where it loads up to 4 marines that fire off the thor??

    Sounds like the unit from CCRA: Yuri's Revenge, but it wouldn't work in SC. The unit by itself would take too much micro, and be way to expensive to to make if it had a chance to explode just from trying to attack.

    You mean turn the Thor into the GALACTIC COLLOSUS from SUPREME COMMANDER?

    Good idea but not happening...

    the sight of a thor would freak out anyone in the first place. I dont see how making it all that over powered to boot would be fair anyways. (ALSO) can the thor hit air units or no???

    I think the Thor can.

    btw now that I think about it, it does sound like the GC lol ^_^ the only thing is that the GC's got chicken legs and an eye beam.


    Edit: regarding the unit pulling mechanism, let's make it so that it costs more energy to pull larger units and the tendency to fail/breakdown increases exponentially and the chance to fail will also be increased with repeated use, for example sucking a mothership to the ground will be something like 75% fail/45% breakdown and it'll drain your energy reserve, but if it does work... ;) The ability should not be able to apply to anything fixed to the ground, like structures and stuff, but a Terran building that has lifted off can be targeted.
