I think Immortals can shoot air.

Check out the SC2 website immortal page.

In the action shot, it clearly points its gun upwards as if aiming for an air units.

1) You're talking about MORTARS, not mortals. Mortars are fired in the air, but are intended for ground units..... Mortals are beings who can die. Humans are mortal.

2) I can't see a shred of evidence that supports this theory. I have heard RUMORS about hitting air, but it hasn't been confirmed ever. No one has presented any proof. So as of now I'm still assuming they're a ground only unit.

 

i hope they can shoot air, but IMO i think they aim upwards to attack higher elevated positions as that is the newer element introduced in SC2

 

A tank can point its gun up into the air. That doesn't make in an anti air battery.

 

Immortals could hit air this was confirmed by one of our representatives who went to blizzcon but recently Karune said they changed it to a ground only unit due to balance issues.

ive also heard from some people that in the blizzcon immortals could hit air, but i havent seen it myself or the statment from karune about them being imbalanced for shooting air, i mean, and the thor isnt??????? air, ground, ability, huge hp, long range, what else could they add? oh yeah, you can build many of this, but nooo the mothership was sooooooo imbalanced...
