i need some anti-'s

well

my father sucks........ he's really good at command and conquer generals, i really respect that about him...
but what i dont like is re-formatting my PC three times in one month, because of him browsing through unsafe pornsites.....
i could give his safe ones but i really dont want to....

so my request is

can someone recommend me to some anti-porn softwares?
i really need it, my firefox just got infected, luckily only firefox was infected so i just re-installed.....

 

Well....If he's not a computer whiz....You could always just block those sites?

i dont think i can block ALL of it because he uses google and clicks anything.............

alright are you old enough where he wouldn't be mad at you for looking at those sites? and if you are then the best course would be to just give him the sites that are safe

 

Well....What you can do is download NetNanny or something and add exceptions to the safe ones.

 

or you can block all sites that are rated x

 

LOL, i guess youre right.......... but in any instance, i just want anti porn sofwares just in case, and dont get me wrong, me and my father are like buddies, along with the other two boys of the family (three boys including me and him), but i can and will, bring him down when i need to........ (i have the authority from mom)

..well, if you object to the harm the websites inflict as opposed to the images, CounterSpy and Spy Sweeper may be worth a look. Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot Search & Destroy as well as HijackThis are all free, so maybe you can use those to.

well, if you can't stop it, at least slow it down. reformatting the hard drive so much will wear it down and break it. heres what you do, go get these programs(i have these and i never got an infection once):

1) comodo firewall 3 (disable the defence+ and down get any other extra stuff besides the firewall when installing)

2) avg free 7.5 (its a good antivirus that doesn't use alot of resources but, recently today when i was updating with avg, it was the first time it gave me a pop up to get the new avg 8 that was just released and not free)

3) avira antivira (a extremely good antivirus program, it caught all of the viruses in my cousin's trojan infested laptop but when it updates, it gives an ad to get the paid edition, which is bare-able, its free and its like the full version <to make sure you get maximum protection, you go to the expert configurations section and set the heurtics to highest and make sure it scans every file and all but you can leave the scanning priority to normal>)

4) spybot search and destroy (spyware killer, very nice and useful, you need to manually update this program yourself every week and then after updating, you go to the immunization section and press immunize for the protection.)

all this may actually look like its a lot and will slow your computer a lot but, i'll tell you this though, i used norton before and it claimed it covered all areas but, so what? it slowed down my computer so much that it took a few minutes to finally stablize. with all these smaller and specialized programs, i don't recieve as much lag and boots up in less than 20 seconds.

think of this as well, you have one big single core pentium, it can never be as good as a dual core processor no matter how fast and specialized it may be, same with protection, claiming to cover it all doesn't mean anything if its unresponsive, slow and inefficient.

Yours destroy viruses AFTER they infect your computer, but with SiteAdvisor you won't even go on the sites that have viruses and malware.

SiteAdvisors etc. Dont they block some sites, like being able to host on WC3 etc.?

 

try it, but seriously need some protection and not something that looks a black list that can be outdated or inaccurate
