Have you ever watched a StarCraft match? Football fans probably wouldn't really get it. Just a bunch of stuff kinda fighting. Because they don't understand the game, right? So like if you don't understand football, then watching it isn't fun, because it's just a bunch of meatheads running into each other and chasing a ball for an hour. It's fun to watch high-level competition in things you understand, it's not fun if you don't get what's going on at all.
I've been playing soccer since before I can remember and I still hate watching it. Even the World Cup was mildly dull.
