When a game starts it says which side is favored or slightly favored. Why when i play against a team who its slightly favored and win, on the score screen it says my team was slightly favored and get less points for the win. And another match... says teams were even... after the match says that my team was favored even after having a player leave at the beginning of the match on our team.
Sorta related.. I have never (ever) been favored (even slightly) in a 1v1 match. It's been even a few times, but that as all. There seems to be something weird going on with that system.
I often have even matches, or slightly favored matches against people who have much higher levels than me. Today I had three matches in a row where I was declared even matched against people in the upper silver, even though I'm only 14 in bronze : ( This drives me crazy!!!
Hm... From what I've noticed... Who gives a crap about the favored stuff. It's impossible for the AI that Blizzard has up now to actually tell you whether or not you're favored. I HATE going up against people that I'm favored over because for some reason they end up being beast as hell and raping me except for some rare occasions. When you are at the top of ranks, like 30 to 1 you start getting matched up with people who are favored to you so that you can try and advance to the next level. (Don't quote me on this because I'm not 100% but this is what happens with me.) Sure you may get the slightyly favored or favored matches throughout the middle, but you should cherrish those as they give you so many more points than the other options with a very small amount of points you could lose from them. Guys gotta just think of it as more practice. Happens to all of us.
See thats my problem though! I really want to be matched against people it thinks are favored to me, because I need to point boost to move up. But instead it matches me up with people who actually are hugely favored (over twice as many points as me) but then calls it an even match and doesn't give me the points for winning. Since my last post I have played (and coincidentally won) matches against a 50 rank siver and a 24 rank silver, both of whom it told me were even matches against me, even though I'm 12 bronze.
Yeah, I feel ya there. I'm in silver 1v1 by a freak mistake and I've been playing mass Even matches and getting very pissed off. I dunno what's up with you though. I mean..usually when I get to about the 20's the first favored person I beat bumps me to the next group.
Team matching making has some bugs in it. Sometimes the favored status isn't the same or is the opposite of the loading screen, sometimes the match ups aren't good, etc..
I don't get it either. I was rank 55 bronze. Won accidentally from a gold player and just got +6 points (got me to rank 52) Every time I win from other (almost equal) bronze player I get 4 or 6 points max. But today I lost to someone ranked 13 bronze and directly lost 20 points. (back at rank 60) So why do I lose a triple amount of points when I lose from a higher ranked player? Is this a bug or something? It took me a day to win 6 matches but almost lost all points in just one match.
There's another thread about this on the forums. Maybe you guys should contact blizzard about it. I havn't had the problems but maybe there is a glitch with some people.
It's not a glitch. The matchmaking uses a hidden skill rating as the basis of who is favored. It's not based on your league, points, or rank within a league. The fact that you are evenly matched against a gold player is actually very good news, because it means you will be moved up to silver or gold soon.
