I have created custom maps, and it looks like only the PREVIEW feature of the editor lets me play my map. This is so weird! Would you guys have any ideas about whats going wrong? I dont want to be forced to upload my map online to play my own UMS!!!

Edit: 2nd question also: I can see that if I edit campaign maps I can add hero units but not if I create my own map or download maps from websites, for skirmishes. Is there something to do to have heroes on an UMS?

First off, I would liek to recommend this post be moved to the Starcraft 2 Maps and Replays forum.

For your first question: To the extent of my knowledge, the only way to test your map besides the editor feature is to publish your map, which is uploading it online to Blizzard's official map repository.

Second question: When you create a new map, a dialog box opens up that lets you choose attributes of the map such as dependencies, terrain, and other data. In order to use the hero units from the campaign, you must select the dependency Wings of Liberty - Campaign rather than Melee.
