So when you're zerg.. how do you counter hydralisks???? =.= .................... i once got beaten by a player who went basickly MASS hydra's and i didn't know how to counter them
Roaches for tanking some damag, speed lings to surround, banelings would be a seriously good counter. You should always have some hydras of your own too
Yep, Hydras are glass cannons, use Roaches, Brood Lords, Lings, Ultras, Banelings. As long as you're hitting them, they'll go down pretty quickly.
Don't opt for air, Hydras>>>Mutas, Infestor FG might help if they clump in a ball to prevent each and everyone of em from getting in range and lining up.
against pure hydras, get pure roaches (as you tech towards BL and corruptors of course). roaches have more health (145 to 80, I think) and deal more damage (like 20 compared to 14), AND cost 1/2 the gas. roaches are obviously wayy better, assuming he isn't teching for mutas shortly after that. You can slaughter his hydra army, then just tech faster to air and gg
yeah but roaches attack slower and have a shorter range.. of course that can be prevented by burrowing them and unburrowing them on top of the hydras so the range doesn't really matter ^^
They're pretty easy to kill. Use any unit that can attack ground and you're pretty much guaranteed to have more health than the Hydras. They are glass cannons and your opponent can only produce half of the Hydras he did in Brood War because they are 2 supply and more expensive.
Roaches counter Hydralisks (especially when unit cost is taken into consideration); make up for the range difference by rooting the Hydras with fungal growth. Won't even be close.
