Hydralisk is now a 1.5 Tier unit.

Karune has stated that Hydralisks have been moved back to the 1.5 Tier spot and its cost has been reduced.

from a topic called: Zerg have no flexible transportation

with this change to the Hydralisks Tier, it is most likely that the Lurker Tier has also been moved down to its original spot as well, im very happy about this ^_^

Roaches and Hydras at tier 1.5. Sweet! (Unless they move Roaches, which is always possible.)

Giving the Zerg more swarm-y units early on is a definite plus, assuming the Roach hasn't been set back. If the Hydralisk and Roach are fighting over the same position, it should definitely be given to the Roach, but if they're all there, it's all good.

That said, I didn't really see a problem with the Hydralisk at a later tier.

Are we all sure we want them brought down? The Defiler's basically been brought down as well, not to mention that the Queen's also at Tier 1... I'd say it'd be better to leave the Lurker until later on so it can be more effective, also giving Hydralisks a longer time in the spotlight.

I am happy to see hydralisk back on earlier tier. It will keep is backbone feel for the Zerg, iconic unit :)

But like it was said above in theses post, most probably the Lurker will come back down will the Hydralisk.

This makes me fear that the lurker will still be a crucial unit to Zerg. I like lurkers, but I hate that Zerg needs to depend almost completely on them to fight efficiently, just like Terran needs Siege Tanks all the time : /

If they could keep the roach as a more crucial unit, it would make the Zerg feel a lot more offensive.

Still I find those good news (except lurker)

if you look at the most recent Zerg tech tree the Infestor is a Tier 3 unit, like the defiler is

Finally, the Hydralisk has received its rightful place in the Zerg Hierarchy. I wonder though, what is its cost and overall stats now?

This is good news, although it is old news, I thought i should express my opinion on it.

I wonder though, since the zerg have quite a handful of tier 1 units, will the roaches be moved to tier 2?

    - Zergling, Drone, Overlord, Queen, and Hydralisks for tier 1
    - Roaches, Overseers, Banelings, Corruptors, Large Queen, and Mutalisks for tier 2
    - Ultralisks, Swarm Guardians, Huge Queen, and Infestors for tier 3.

Though probably not how it is right now, it sounds good to me.

Great, Hydralisks are pushed back to wreak havoc on my Marines again.

It'll make me miss M&M if not for the add-on that lets you have two queues of units.

Of course we're sure! How in God's name is the Lurker or Hydralisk effective in its current position? It just does NOT make any sense.

I made a few suggestions to Blizzard in this month's report including making the Roach a mutation of the Hydralisk to create a "tank" Hydralisk which even more emphasizes the Hydralisk's role instead of killing it. Maybe they'll experiment with that.

I agree. I think the Lurker is an outdated strategic mechanic. Needs to go. Remove the Lurker completely.

Well, I haven't actually played it, but the Roach looked more than capable of taking the Hydralisk's old tier 1 position, and, being later, the Hydralisk could be more powerful and more effective in smaller groups. A similar thing works for the Lurkers. They'd be more powerful and a much more potent unit, while, due to them being delayed as well, give the Hydralisk a longer time in which to shine. Just because they were in those positions in StarCraft1, it doesn't mean it's not feasible to have them in a different position in StarCraft2. It's a completely different game. Also, I wouldn't say the Roach's completely kill the Hydralisk's role. They've got very different properties and would be used for very different situations.

However, hearing that Infesters have been pushed back to tier 3 again has helped.
