I need a new phone. Initially I fell in love with HTC Desire Z but the more I read into it the more I am concerned about the opening mechanism being too loose and potentially degrading in quality over time so I might end up with a simple HTC Legend. Is there anyone who experienced Z first hand? Or has a friend who does? Could you give me some feedback please?
Just checked them out... Overall, the Desire Z is a fantastically better phone from pure specs (800MHz processor compared with 600MHz, as well as double the RAM). Plus, it uses HSDPA+, which is noticably faster than standard HSDPA (I hate to use the buzzword, but '4G'). The screen is only 20cm^2 bigger, but has nearly double the resolution. As far as the slider, HTC makes well built phones. My boss had an HTC Mogul (Had a slide out keyboard) for over three years, with little problem. The slide did get slightly lose, but only on open and close (ie it didn't wiggle side to side or whatnot).
