Hello. I feel that the HSM has become inefficient and dumping gas in ravens (in order to use HSM) in TvZ now is a bad investment (against hydralisks tanks are a better investment IMO and against mutalisks etc. its useless anyways if the other player has decent micro) I admit that it was a bit OP pre-patch.. but this new radius - come on... For example when i try to HSM a group of banelings (6 banelings) i need 2 hsms even if they are pretty much clumped together. Worker harassment might be an option, but terran already has a lot of effective ways to do that. (also not that effective with the new radius, you get maybe 7 worker on full saturation) and 2 well placed turrets while the enemy is distracted can do way more damage. What use for the HSM do you find in Patch 12? Do you also use it against P and T? snace
say goodbye to 50 stacked mutalisks with Heat seeking missiles. offcourse you need about 3 or 4. ...that's all i can think of.
HSM is sh-itz I totally agree with you. They should have given it more defensive abilities like the matrix shield or something, just like in sc1. Another thing is that the raven is too slow and weak. A few shots and down goes along with all the vespene gas with it. No wonder the HSM is rarely seen. Still, at least it doesn't require the Fusion Core anymore, but I doubt that would change too many things.
Hsm Have you watched the videos of auto-turret? I think you have from description of use in mineral line. but I think use all in whatever combination seems to work with point defense drone. I dont have Beta. But when released, terran Raven with it s 3 abilities looks interesting. And I much preferred Protoss in BroodWar.
