Hey guys, my name's Jake and I've been playing SC since launch. I like to edit SC and War3, probably even more than I like to play. I've got a website linked in my sig where I host my maps and other stuff. I'm so looking forward to SC2. Just when I feared Blizzard was done with the RTS genre, they win me back! What's up with you guys?
Sup Jake 2 things you should know: 1- When something goes wrong, you blame BoP 2- When Iffjdrie shows up, you need to ... *burrow* That should take you through the next 3 days or so (Sry guys too much Fallout 3 makes me think in a very survivalistic fashion)
Haha, thanks for the warnings. I'm from central Florida originally, but lately I've been living in Tallahassee, FL (just graduated from FSU in December). Where are you guys from?
Amsterdam i am argueably the most disturbing person on the forum(though some say its Kurai or Darkone) also, if you look behind you now, you will see darkone attempting to drink your blood
I've actually been, two summers ago. I did a study abroad program, spent 10 days in Sydney and 5 weeks in Cairns, QLD. At the end of it I stayed an extra week at a WoW guildie's house in Brisbane. Beautiful country, I want to go back.
So you didn't look, damn. -bites- Mmm new member blood. I'm from the US, and hating it. Planning to leave.
Hey Jake! I Believe we've unofficially met. I, like AcE come from the land of OZ. And like you, enjoy the editors. Good to have you around!
Good to be here. I haven't been a regular on a 'board in a few years, and I decided I miss it. Plus I want to enter the joke contest.
Hey Jake Some of those wc3 maps you've designed are quite nice. I have done a bit of mapmaking myself in the past. I enjoy making melee maps and dungeon raid maps. My dungeon maps are my favourite I think, and all have the same basic formula: various custom made heros to choose from, based around classic rpg roles. Each player chooses one hero and off they go around a twisty cavern, battling creeps, grabbing loot, levelling up, finding keys and unlocking doors, and getting through a couple of challenging bosses. Deaths happen, and when they do, players can resurrect as a new hero back but starting at level 1. I try to design it for 8-10 players, with good teamwork skills. It's a real pleasure for me to see a team work well and complete a dungeon. Some players just understand the raid thing better than others, but there's always one who tries to grab all the mana pot drops though
Like in any raid. =D I like designing those kinds of maps because that's the content I liked the best in WoW. I have lots of good memories of UBRS and ZG in particular.
