How to counter ghost EMP?

    Seriously hald of my armys hp is gone instantly in addition to all the energy and immortals shield. There is no way of preventing the ghost from firing it in time.

    What the hell am I supposed to do?

    I find it nearly impossible to feedback them in time especially when they have 20 marauders around them with medivacs hovering above. Not even mentioning the fact that I have to tech up completely different tree. :S

    Mhm, true.. I mean, I guess the best way is to spread out your units and bring collosi with the range upgrade to roast his army.. But what you're saying could have been something like "He has a high templar that storms my army how do I take it out".. Kind of hard to say because the ghost would be useless withought the emp.. it's a support unit! And keep in mind that shield regenerate, so it's not all that bad, you can wait for the emp and perhaps fall back..

    Yes the shields regenerate but only if the unit survives... 20 marauders usually ensure that they dont.

    Well why don't you just engage then? Does the EMP really make you lose the game? Or is it Macro related?
    Also, mauraders can't shoot air, so try going some phoenix' and v-rays. and using the grav beam to disable the ghost for a while.. While using a few stalkers to snipe it..

    First, push harder at the start and maybe your game wont even get to ghosts, second option which I have used, and requires you to follow his army around with an obs, is to sneak in a DT and kill the ghost and then engage immediately before he can retreat and get another one.

    EMP can easily win the game if you're Terran and have an equal sized force.

    better scouting. ghosts are pretty expensive, there shouldn't be that many on the map. target them early. it's the same thing as going up against a protoss who's using high templars and storming often.

    also, better micro. spread out units, etc.

    Better army placement. That's the best thing that comes to my mind. Being a Terran player that I am, I usually go for ghost tech pretty much early in the game. I have to say, it is easy, I mean REALLY easy to shoot everything down if the enemy Protoss clumps all the units. However, players who sends in lets say Zealots first pretty much either makes me EMP right away or save the EMP for the main high tier army. Saving EMP usually means Zealots wiping 1/3 of my unit. So mainly, send in your guys separately.

    i've heard a lot of rly high level players say there's pretty much no way to stop it, you just have to push on in spite of it :(

    If he runs in with a couple, there's just no way you're not gonna get EMP off.

    Watching replays now, I see a lot of protoss players use feedback on ghosts. Pro players scout with the observer and gets ready to feedback. It works quite well actually.

    I recommend using carriers. If the terran tries to use EMP by the time they use it most of their army will be dead while yours don't because when not controlled the units will attack the interceptors instead of carriers

    There is no viable counter vs EMP. (Unless your Far better than them and outmass)

    Not unless he misses your HT that he somehow let you get and you can feedback them

    Thats assuming, they let you expand, and are rtarded and don't EMP your HT.

    You cant do much sings but you most ever fight and large places and upgrade armory the problem is that you can feedback 1-2 when you are got 3-4 gosts but then he has send an emp in your hts and thats it send other units first because and then you hts because then he will emp the other units and you musst split the hts one right one in the middle and one left because then he cant focus you hts with one emp and in the time he send the emp you can send 2-3 emp with the other hts and can micro your units but i find they are to heavy because you can built them before the factory andthe energy steal an the nuke ar anoth the shilds make them to heavy at PvT or the emp hat 4 seconds before he exploded.
