How many maps does Starcraft 2 come with?

Hi, I'm thinking about buying Starcraft 2 as I would like to buy a good RTS game (are there any others you might recommend?) and I was just wondering, how many maps come with the game that I can play in Skirmish mode?

If we're talking ladder 1vs1 maps they should be around 15 or so(the official ones used in quick matches by the matchmaking system), if you're talking general scenario maps to play against AI or friends in custom games there are tons cause appart from the 1vs1 official maps there's the XvsX official maps, the user created maps(there's quite a few of them, a guy named Archivian(or something) made a topic about some awesome ones he made in our map section forum here and there's also lots of tournament maps or other user-made maps that can be downloaded straight though the in-game interface via battle.net(You can just search for melee maps and get a list of available ones to download)...

If you're willing to buy a good RTS then SC2 is deffinitely a perfect candidate. Also the new Age of Empires Online seems extremely cute(yes, cute, it's not gonna be either as balanced or neat as SC2 but it's a hell of an enjoyment to play - currently in closed beta though) and I haven't tried it but I also hear that the new Shogun should also be really nice, if you like the more realistic, medieval-style battles with weather features and other such stuff...

There are hundreds of maps for SC2.

 

thousands to be correct but its not like all of them are skirmish maps or made by Blizzard
