There are 29 missions in total, lots of (secret) achievements to get, and multiple difficulty levels. To complete all of that at least once, I'd say you'll need at least somewhere between 20 to 30 hours, if not more.
But what's the fun in that? I'm loving that fact that there are achievements to get, and hidden feats of strength. It makes the single player portion of the game last a lot longer then most other rts games, and more challenging.
True. I'm actually playing casual first, then normal immediately after. It just seems so wrong to have those blank spaces above Normal in the Mission Archive. The achievements for Hard, I figure I could work on later playing from start to finish. However, there is an achievement for finishing the campaign in under 8 hours. I wonder how you can get that. Do you have to start a new campaign or will it take the shortest times for each mission?
I charged through it in under 20 hours, probably closer to 15. I did it on normal but to have a better experience I should have done it on hard.
The storyline isn't long compared to SC1 and it make sense cause it only has the Terran campaign where as SC1 includes campaigns for three races. But what makes the SCII campaign different from SCI is the bonus objectives, awards, and achievements that might burn you more time. I played through the campaign under casual within 20 hrs just to get to know the maps and spots for bonus stuffs like research points, etc so that when I replay under hard I won't do too bad. So the storyline is short compared to SC1 but it might spend way more time then you actually need because you might replay the mission many times, or maybe try and choose to help the other side instead (the mission with Hansen and Tosh), or maybe get achievements, do bonus objectives, etc.
any way to know what all teh differant feats of strength are? I am currently going through on hard, getting all the listed achievements.
