How do you attack move?

  1. In Starcraft 2, how do you kite units, like you move then attack then move. Other people do that to me and they can do it really quickly, but i don't know how to do it.

Which keys do you use? The way I do it, i just move, to a spot, then my units attack them, then move again...but for some reason that seems way slower than how other players do it, they move attack quick then move.

I move my units, press H, then repeat. Not sure if that is the best way to do it though. Pressing H causes your units to attack enemy units in range.

Nvidia, the reason it seems slower, is because your units have to wait until they are all at that spot.
I personally right click away, A click the ground near the enemy, wait till the shots go off, right click away again.
I believe you can hit S as well. I havn't tried it.

i think S might be slower though. the "stop" command also stops them from attacking for a bit, doesn't it? at least it did in SC1.

i think move-H-move works best if you want to avoid accidentally walking towards the enemy (like kiting during a retreat). if you're really good with your mouse you could move, focus fire by right clicking a specific enemy, and then move again. need ridiculous 1-handed APM for that.

Yep, right click for move, then a click, then right click. It's just switching back and forth between telling them to move, and telling them to attack move. As long as you're quick about it with ranged units, and their units aren't faster, it's a beautiful thing. Once you get good at that, as asdf stated, you can right clck move, then a click or right click a single unit, then right click move. I always play with all health bars turned on all the time, that way it's easier to snipe units with the lowest health, which is especially important for me when i am trying to maximize a few zerglings in a worker line, the constant health bars really healp you get that extra worker or two, considering they're so easy to lost track of when theres like 30 workers around! Hope this helps!

Yes using the A - Attack command is best, the placement of the keyboard is perfect for your middle finger move!

I kite by running far enough so that when i attack command the groung they can shoot and i can run again.
