how can i improve the speed of sc2?

i want to play with better graphics, but whenever i set the options to high or ultra, the game starts lagging like no other
is there any way to fix this or improve the situation? or is it just my computer?

how much would a video/graphics card improve sc2?

What specs do you have inside your computer? If its lagging like that you probably dont have the necessary hardware to run it that high.

 

Hey TerranGod, long time no see.

Try freeing up some space on your system drive/partition in case you don't have enough virtual memory and be sure to fully defragment your drives with something other than Windows. I can recommend O&O. Also, disable your anti-virus and spyware blocker if you have any. There are probably other steps you can do to further improve performance.

what are your current PC specs?

Even with a 5750 I was only averaging 30fps on ultra everything. It would be slightly choppy in scenes with a bunch of action and battle but it is more than playable.

I just upgraded to a 5850 and I get twice the fps now
