I dont really like the original Starcraft since the heroes cant get Stronger instead of just sticking with upgades.I really want a lvling up feature for the heroes so they can be stronger, faster and better rather than just sticking with the upgrades of armor and weapon upgrades.

Pls give the lvling up feature.Pls.:(

This has been talked about many times before. In the campaign your heroes will almost definately NOT level. BUT in the map editor there will be tools to include it( as well as all the other things your thinking of asking :p )

Having levels definitely doesn't suit StarCraft, and it's definitely a feature that's unique to WarCraft. Instead StarCraft heroes are able to appear in their different weapons of war, like how Duke can come in his Siege Tank or his Battlecruiser. If a level system were to be introduced, the focus would be on the hero, not the whole army, which is what StarCraft is supposed to be all about. Not to mention that all units would have to be worth a certain amount of experience, there'd have to be bonuses, etc, for each level, the level of your hero would have to carry on from one mission to the next, there'd have to be equivalences between a level eight Duke in his Siege Tank and a level eight Duke in his Battlecruiser.... It'd just become really messy and would take the focus off the game.

Not to mention that it wouldn't effect melee games at all, and seeing as there's enough going on in campaigns already, you shouldn't have to worry about levelling a hero.

According to Blizzard Q&As at WWI, heroes will rarely be in missions (boo! hiss!) anyway, so I'm not sure levelling would even make sense.

I know it would take focus off the game. But i just dont want to see like Jim Raynor still taking on like weapons and armor upgrades up to maxed 3rd upgrade.I just want the heroes to get more than just 3 upgrades.I rather prefer around 10.OF course that high means goes to the weapons. The armor also needs to be better.Thats all i can complain.I just hate to see that hero like my favourite Fenix getting killed easily from the Zerg in the same way Dragoons died.Atleast make it more dramatic.

As has beed said, levelling would shift the focus of the game to something that's already distinct for a different franchise. I would say heros can only be found in-game to spice up the same old RTS interface, and to give a slightly more chance of losing if the computer kills your hero - and also to differentiate one mission from the other. Another reason might be to create a certain "bond" between you and key characters because it's one thing talking (or rather, receiving orders) in the briefing room while actually going down there to spill some blood is another.

Finally, it doesn't make any sense to give better equipment for a hero just because he killed a certain amount of enemy when he could be given the better equipment straight away to maximise her/his effectiveness and ensure their safety.

So what if fenix dies? Thats life. Blades, bullets and claws don't care about rank, or 'hero status'. Starcraft does it well, their heroes are excellent versions of regular units but are just as vulnerable. Its up to you to keep your commanders out of danger.

it didn't work in zelda, either.
sometimes leveling systems just aren't good for certain genres, and this along with the style of gameplay, is not one that would be well or shine in the leveling up section imho.

The heroes will not level in Starcraft II's campaign, just as everyone says. Blizzard I believe, wanted to stay with the old hero mechanics, and i'm very glad of that :)
