I will start off by thanking you for reminding me of what that tool was called (Game Booster). Now I can go download it.

Now you may actually be able to play this game (just not all that shiny) but I need some more information. First and for most, download CPUz and post a screenshot (alt+printscreen, paste into MS Paint and save as a jpeg, upload to photobucket or something) of what processor you are using (unless you know the exact model number). If its based on an AMD64 variant, you'll probably be okay, but if its based on the AthlonXP line (the first gen of Sempron's), then you'll be in trouble.

If you know what socket your CPU is off hand (Socket A ,754, 939, or AM2) that could save time.

Also, are all of your drivers up-to-date? 800x600 play is impossible as far as I know, as the lowest supported resolution is 1024x768 (and on most video cards, even ones way older then yours, 800x600 would actually be slower then 1024x768 in most cases!!!).

PS I guess I just have awesome timing. XD

If you can edit your first post and change the topic, i would change the topic from "Help me" to something more descriptive, like "Older PC, can it play SC2?"

CPUz is a program that will tell me all the information and specs on your processor. The screenshot that is shown on that website is similar to what I want you to take a screenshot of.

So, when you use printscreen (the button on your keyboard) you can't, then, paste anything into MS-Paint? Go ahead and read off the information (with the field names). In the case of that example shot on the CPUz page:

    Name:Intel Core i7 860
    Code Name: Lynnfield
    Package: Socket 1156 LGA

ETC ETC all the way to Specification, then skip all that crap about FAMILY, and list the INSTRUCTIONS.

or, try to get printscreen (above your page up button) to work.

Holy crap, didn't catch the edit on the post. Good news, you have a 64-bit CPU, if you wanted, you could install an OS like Windows 7 64 (which would pep up the system more)

So is this is a laptop ( Didn't even know there was a Socket S1 lol)?? If so, try updating your drivers using the nVidia laptop update tool.

If your video card isn't supported, try using the laptopvideo2go.com's XP-32 drivers, they basically just take laptop video card inf's and add them to the official latest driver.

nVidia's laptop drivers are pretty crappily updated. Also, if your video card is sharing RAM with your system, you may want to bump that up to about as high as it will go in the BIOS, although I highly doubt it uses that old method (its probably dynamic),

i just need to upgrade specific parts

my graphics card should be fine and i actually have an update to do

so what do you think i can run it on with a steady FPS?low/medium or what?

    also,you got xfire or MSN?

I had to update my graphics card from Nvidia

i am not sure about laptopvideo2go.com though,i dont want anything to mess up my PC so i will just stick with nvidia lol

I honestly have no clue, I've been playing on an Intel 965... lol so its even worse.

Oh wait, it doesn't really play, so much as slideshow... so... I spend all of my time here until I go over to my buddies house to play. XD I would wager Low with some med settings enabled.

The laptopvideo2go drivers are still nVidia drivers at its base, it simply adds your driver inf so they will install on your machine, instead of depending on a ****ty vendor to update your laptop drivers (which in most cases, they never will beyond manufacture).

Then again, did the nVidia site have an update for your laptop? If not, laptopvideo2go is about your only remaining option to not get stuck with craptasticly old drivers. They are really reliable because they don't add any tweaks, they are just straight up nVidia drivers.

Oh, it kinda works. Yeah, as far as PC's go, I'm an A+ Certified Technician. I used to play MMO's (mostly City of Heroes, I mostly play FPS), but I'm stuck on Dialup for the time being (until I get a new job and move the hell out of my parents place). When I moved back into this place, my Operton 2x 170, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8800GT was DOA (and that sure has hell would play this game!?). No clue why, worked fine when i packed it.

In my spare time, I hack Japanese PC (and sometimes other systems) games into English. System troubleshooting is easy compared to that kind of thing.
