Hi, Id like some help please. Bought and installed the game but on finishing installation the following error message appears: I am running a high spec computer but using Windows xp 32-bit as the OS and the graphics card which the error pertains to is a ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB. Easily powerful enough to run the game. I have updated the drivers to the latest version: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp I have service pack 3 and directx 9.0c. I have even tried updating this to directx 10 but no joy. Here are my display dxdiag details on system, directx and display if they help. My theories at the moment are: 1) Im linking the computer to monitor using an old school (not sure of the name cable - works for every other game - dragon age etc) do I need an HDMI cable to run SC2?! 2) Somehow the latest driver is not compatible with directx 9c or 10 for some reason. 3) Ive got no idea. Help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Im using a HD5770 with CCC 10.6, runs just fine. But im running on a Win7 x64 OS. Maybe there were some problems when you updated your drivers, you should try to (cleanly) de-install the drivers and then reinstall. There is no HDMI necessery to run the game. I assume your using a simple VGA Cable (the one with 9 Pins if i remember right). It shouldn't be your display or the cable since everything else runs fine.
Thanks very much. Im having major trouble removing the driver. If I try and replace the driver with 10.6 for example it just stays as 10.7 Im thinking that 10.7 is not compatible with xp 32bit so im trying to go to 10.6 but it dosent seem to want to let me. Any ideas?! Again thanks for the help.
Hm....there are Cleanup-Programms out in the internet for drivers to completly remove them. Try google for that. Hopefully it works with it.
