Hi, Well I have been reading this forum for quite a while now and found it to be really informative. And much more well mannered than the official Blizzard ones. So I came here every few days. But there came a time (about 30 mins ago actually) I realised hey I can't just be a passive member here anymore I have a few SC ideas on my own. And when I have the time I want to share them all. And be able to comment on others ideas too. So now I am posting. I am a chef so I won't be able to post all that much but I'll try my best to come on as often as I can. Why the8thark as my name here? Well there was a game for the SNES called Terranigma. And the default name for the main character if you didn't change it was Ark. I really liked that game so I used that name. But Ark as it was, was always already taken on many forums. So I added in my favourite number being 8. And now it's the8thark which is pretty much unused anywhere on the net. I have yet to come across this being used anywhere on the net apart from stating my net name. And my Starcraft history basically comes from me playing Warcraft 2 on a few friends computers. I quite liked it but found that the 2 races there are just the same with different spells. So when SC was announced and stated 3 unique races and a space theme I couldn't wait to get it. And I ended up buying the Power Macintosh version of SC when it was released and I liked it quite a lot. I bought Brood Wars when it was released too. I found it good too. And on a different note I have liked every blizzard game released (even the 2 SNES games I think) except for Warcraft 3 and World Of Warcraft. I haven an imac now and I really like it. Lastly I am an Aussie who one day wants to visit places away from my large island. And I have a question for the forum. If I choose an avatar from the forum library is that ok. Can more than one person use the same avatar from that library? Thanks
Welcome to the forum. You've already earned a mineral reward. I'm glad to see you've started off on the right foot.
Nice intro, and kewl, you're a chef? Welcome to the most mild mannered and well behaved forum of SC2 (except in space junk) Now can i have some of your delicious dishes? LOL once again, welcome
Yeah, more than one person can have the same avatar from that library. But if you want to look unique, get your own.
yeah, but if you pick your own, they might not be unique either, space junk has the same avatar as me
Whose fault is that ijjf? _________________________________________________ Welcome to the only SC2 forum sanctioned by the Forum God. I shall call you "thark" I have a question for you. I enjoy cooking myself and was considering becoming a chef. Do you have any tips?
Hello the8thark, congratz on being a chef ;D thats so cool, btw, my avatar is a pic of my all time cooking-guy idol, im not really sure how good he is (site is www.proatcooking.com), but i think he's hilarious. P.S. if im not allowed to advertise other sites please tell me or just delete that :good:
Firstly thank you for all the really nice welcomes to this forum. To Gasmaskguy and ijffdrie: Thanks for answering my question. To BirdofPrey: Well In Australia you have to apprentice for a few years to become a chef. It's worth it though. For me I did a 6 month qualification at TAFE here. It's like a pre apprenticeship course. Lasts about 6 months. I'd suggest for you to look around for something similar in a college or TAFE near you. Cause to be honest before I thought I was a good cook, but that course taught me so much and made me realise I wasn't actually that good before I started. And after doing that course it's much easier to get an apprenticeship in being a chef. A 3 year part time work and part time study course for 3 years here. Also the skills you learn in the first 6 month course really help enhance your skills. Also I think it was fun. Just remember the uniforms/knives you'll need for such courses are not cheap. But if you love cooking I say have a look into it and good luck. To Seradin: Sure I can. Just need to know what everyone likes and I can get started. Haha! To Alasdair: He's pretty good I guess. I do have 2 chefs I think are really good too. Both are Aussies though. To lichking: Thank you. To AcE_01: I am from Brisbane. And what's Sydney like these days? It's nice to see another Aussie here.
