Has anyone notices what the Dark Voice says...

I just beat In Utter Darkness on Brutal and noticed that the Dark Voice says at the end of the following movie, "I love it when a plan comes together." I may be wrong because it's been awhile since I've heard him...but isn't that one of Duran's catch phrases in SC:BW? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's safe to say the Dark Voice is actually Duran.

I know it's a massive long shot...but... Why would an all powerful being talk like an idiot such as Duran? It just doesn't fit him... I'd put money down on it being Duran.

I don't beleive that, I read that on the wiki and think it's a load. It's a quote from about a dozen or more shoes, comics, movies, etc etc. The fact that Duran was MIA this whole game, and this guy is talking just like him.o_o It's hax I tell you, hax.

I'd believe it. It may be campaign, but it doesn't change the fact that every unit capable of speech has some stupid/funny quote, a prime example being the Archon.

 

I don't know but Duran's abbsence is very annoying and noticable especialy when Zeratul meats the hybrids in one of the missions and says "who could have done such an abomination" or something like that and apperantly is suffering from a serious amnesia.

The hole point of the secret mission in SC:BW where Zeratul finds Duran watching over the hybrids was to leave room for this sequal and now blizzard ignores that.

Maybe they've forgotten it like with the case of Sargaras' corruption ?

It's called retconning, but very poorly done in this case.

 

This. Blizzard made several other references in their campaign:

In the "Engine of Destruction" mission, Tychus says "It's time to kick a$$ and chew bubble gum." Duke Nukem reference.

In the "Gates of Hell" mission, Warfield says "My ship has taken terrible, terrible damage." Reference to a catch phrase of some SC2 commentators http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKZlcgOzi_E

There may be some others I'm forgetting.

 

LOL those are not commentators, that's Dustin Browder, the lead designer, nub I forgot the guy's name who we hear twice.

I think that Durran was working for the FAllen one... obviously. and that it could be that he was just saying waht his master says, or his master was speaking through him.

its also possible that that line just fit best right there, and it has nothin to do with duran.

AND its possible that duran isnt in sc2 because it was a kind of pointless character in bw, he did the hybrid thing because they needed someone watching over it, and didnt want to bring in a new character.

all are possibilitys. lets wait for the next instalment to find out

Watch the old secret mission, then notice that it is apparently a Terran structure that holds the Hybrid, then look at the secret mission in WoL.

 

Duran could be both Doctor Narud and the Fallen One. The Fallen only speaks in Zeratul's vision of the future. So perhaps Narud (Duran) becomes the Fallen One, later on in the story?

Power Overwhelming as well. But yeah, maybe Duran is that doctor dude, and after the persona becomes irrelivent to his cause he sheds it and reveals himself as the Dark Voice.

I just typed that into both google and youtube, both did not find anything related to anything that archons say.
