    hello forum -

i know, "wtf, how could this imbecile POSSIBLY believe that he posses as much as a drip of the midlest intelligence and then even begin to start typing - let alone finish, that top header?"

before the blam-a-thon commences i just hope SOMEONE realises, with the mildest of intelligence, that this topic does not, in anyway compare the engines, or actual GAMES, but the ones whom they are marketed to.

    *************************************************************************************************************************************

Ive heard from the bullcrap-which-flows that SCo (starcraftoriginal) has sold in the ballpark of around 8,000,000 copies, count the amount of people who bs'd it and burned it / pirated it and that number is probably near 10.

the Halo franchise on the other had is probably sitting somewhere around that same number, with the X and X36.

    So,

--all of the above is summation to this---->

Whereas: With Sony and Mic competing fiercely this year, what are the odds that we will see a port of SC2 onto the PS3?

    take that xbox-live, har.

Hmm, the odds of SC2 being on PS3

I would say about 1/100 considering Blizzard has never made a game that wasn't PC only and RTS's don't work well on consoles. The interface just isn't all that well suited for it. It can be done just not as easily. Granted, I say the same thing about FPS's on consoles and people put them on consoles anyway. Then again, my point about FPS's on consoles proves to be correct as every game that allows cross platform competition shows.

Quanta you forget that the original Starcraft was ported to Nintendo 64! Even with that being said, I think that it is very unlikely that Starcraft II will also be made for Playstation 3. If anything, Blizzard would continue their relationship with Nintendo and make it for the Wii, which is also a very very large longshot to happening.

Thought I don't think it would happen, Starcraft II for the Nintendo Wii would be pretty effin' amazing I think!

i doubt it. it'd be way too hard to control rts with a console, even a wii. also it'd made micro harder and thus proffesional players rarer.

Of all consoles i think the wii would have the best controls for an rts however pc still beats them all.... its rather unlikely that it will be ported to ps3 and i have concerns over the wii's ability to graphicly handle the game at all....

I highly doubt that Blizzard will ever port one of their RTS's to the console again, not because SC64 was a bad game (I actually thought it was quite fun!) but simply because they have no need to. They make a killing with WoW right now, and if SC2 is made so that a very broad range of computers can handle Blizzard will have more money than God :p.

Sony doesn't really need SC2 on their console either as they've got a decent lineup to face off against MS this holiday season. Not to mention that there won't be another Halo game (other than Halo Wars, but that looks like crap IMO) for a while, so they don't have much to worry about.

I think Ghost could eventually make it to console platforms, and maybe someday they will make mmorpgs capable to being used on both console and pc, and I could see Blizz being heavily involved in that, but nothing in the near future will come from Blizz to console.

I didn't say that Starcraft II for the Wii would be good really, but definitely interesting. If Starcraft II did go to console, it would probably go to the Wii though because of Blizzards relationship with Nintendo.

I think'll do about even. Why? Cause I assume everyone will buy one or the other, or both. It's even out.

Blizzard has bad experiences with Consoles. They have a perfectionistic aproach to their games (on of the reasons they get support for so long, SC gets patches 10 years after release!) but that hardly works with consoles. PC and Console games have fundamentaly different approaches, thats why ports usually fail.

Over here in Germany it is a no-brainer which will win since the PC is actually the winner in the console war. Most of the video games played in Germany are played on the PC, unlike for example, America where way more games are on the Consoles.

Blizzard talks about being a console company at heart. Their first games were console games, and famous in their day. As it happens, all the games Blizzard has been making have been better suited for the PC, so they developed them for the PC. That's about it.
