just a little poll, i've seen the E3 demo , seems to make for an interesting RTS.

I am really not interested in Halo Wars development. It looks tacky even on the 360. Did you see how the Warthog immediately owned those Grunts and Elites just by running them over? Imagine a group of 12 or more Warthogs heading into a batch of enemy soldiers. Can you guess the outcome? I can.

    WARTHOG SMASH!

But hey, surprises come in different shapes and sizes! Let's just hope the game runs my criticisms
over again and again and again.

    P.S.
    and again.

It'll be fairly standard. Worth about 20-30 bucks, maybe.

I think the Halo FPS is only average at best; somehow I don't think the RTS will be any better. To me, since RTS's really aren't my favorite genre I only like the best of the best. That means Starcraft and precious few other RTS's that have proven to be top notch. I don't have time to play every lame RTS that gets thrown out. I dont' even have time to play all the FPS's and RPG's I want to play.

If it gets rave reviews I might consider getting the game, once its 30 or 20 USD, but until then, "why bother?"

I think its just a crappy ploy in order to milk the Halo cow. I bet MS is treating it like that and couldnt give a damn about RTS gameplay

Umm...yeah, that’s pretty obvious. Then again, you can't actually expect a deep RTS on a consol, can you? The controls are simply too limited. And Halo isn’t exactly known for its stunningly original play.

So, yes, it will be a typical RTS that will play almost exactly like command and conquer with shinier graphics. It will not be original. It will not be deep. It will not be creative. It will, however, be briefly entertaining, and probably won’t be terribly bugged. It will be overpriced.

The idea of turning halo into an rts is an interesting one and with the varied enemy types you see in the main fps games one could help transform halo into a fairly good rts, however i still question why on earth would they make it 360 only? In its current state it looks highly simplistic for an rts with its only outstanding feature being the graphics. This is possibly mainly caused by the consoles being highly limited in terms of playing rts games but this could be solved if it was ported to pc.

I must admit, I'm not a fan of the Halo series, but the gameplay trailer of Halo Wars looks great. A bit like CnC3, but still different in a way.

Meh, I think this is going to be just a filler game that'll screw up the franchise a bit. It won't be terrible, but it's not going to be a revolutionary game either.

Lots of halo Fans will buy the game then hate Halo after. Anyways after the ending of Halo 3 sounds like there might be a Halo 4 but not many people will buy it for Campaign since its way too easy and obvious what will happen, like in Halo 3 so people will only buy it for Multi-player if they want to play a better Mult-player then Halo 3

DS/GBA halo was canceled but might come back since they no longer work only for Microsoft
halo wars I believe is being made souly by Bungie and is copyright of bungie studios, so its split from microsoft won't affect anything

Why not? Bungie got rich off the halo games. They have money to fund new games. Besides, they already left, so it must not have been too hard. I think this actually hurts mrcosoft more since halo was thier best selling game. Also, bungie is still making money from halo games since they still get so much out of every game sold.

While they were in Microsoft; Halo 1, 2, and 3 are the only games they made. Before then, they made a series of first person shooters called Marathon and Myth.

Marathon: including Marathon 1 and Marathon 2, was the first shooter to have online chat and duel whielding weapons. It is actually seen as a halo prequel.

Also, bungie made another gaming series called Myth, including Myth: The Fallen Lords, Myth II: Soulblighter, and Myth III: The Wolf Age.
