We currently do not know much about the Zerg. We only know of some basic units like the Overlord, the Zergling and the Ultralisk. So giving info about units evolved from the Mutalisk, which isn't even officially released yet, is next to impossible.

However, there will of course be units similar to them, if not the same. The game needs them for balancing purposes, so don't worry about them not coming back anymore. :good:

Welcome to the forums by the way, I didn't notice you before. :D

The Guardian seems likely to return, or at least a unit taking its role (Long range aerial siege)...Idk about the Devourer. Good idea, but it needed a bit more tweaking

I agree with Fenix, the guardian was a very useful unit, it was shown in many SC1 cinematics, I really liked it. But I always thought the devourer was a waste of resources...

The Warp Ray kinda took the long range bombardment role. The Mutalisk will probably mutate into something with new mechanics.

When looking threw the new units and some of the old ones I've seen that blizz has totally remade the air force of SC. They have kept one unit form the terrans the BC, and one from the protos the carrier. So I think that the zerg air will be completely new. Though I could see the gaurdian and the devourer in new mutated forms I couldn't see them coming back in the same exact roll. So maybe we will be seeing a huge-flying-beetle-shaped-exploding-ball-of-poison :p

The Warp Ray is a Protoss unit  -.-

It's an airborne form of the Reaver.  We're talking Zerg here

I know but Blizzard want the races to be further distinguished meaning it makes more sense to have a new mechanic.

Also the only thing a Warp Ray has in common with a Reaver is the range.

i think that the devourer attacked way to slow but the effect of the acid was nice.

i hope they keep the guardian, but change the name.
Guardian never seemed like a good name for a unit that was primary role was aerial siege.

Because it watched over the Zerg army, killing anything it could before it engaged the other units.

i love the guardian and i agree that the dev's attack was way too slow (but it did work for balance so i was ok with it)

thanks zergalicious, i would have never of thought of that.
Also i thought the devourer's attack was really nice because of its splash. Even though it was slow, the acid spores made up for it by slowing down the attacker's rate fire.

I hope to see the Guardian come back. As for the Devourer, scrap it and put some new evolution in. I never found it too useful :p
