I am having problems with starcraft 2's graphics. When I start the game everything is fine but within a few minutes of a match starting I get the video defect where all the particle like those coming out of the backs of probes.
I've tried updating my graphics drivers but that doesn't seem to help

Im using an hp pavilion dv6t laptop with ati mobility radeon 5740 graphics card.
is there any way to fix this?

Have you tried turning off particle effects?

    no. Ill try that though.
what does turning off the particle effects do? will it make the game look strange at all?
for example will probes not look right?

do you know how I would go about turning off patricle physics? all I can do is adjust it. not turn it off.

It basically turns off explosion, laser, and spell effects. Eye candy.

I figured it was able to be turned off.

    Hrm

Your graphics card isn't strong enough.

thats odd my room mate has starcraft 2 and doesnt have this problem. though he doesn't play it much.
the graphics card is a 512 mb card. is the model of the card not strong enough or is there not enough video memory? I thought that 512 would be plenty.

    Yes and no.

A 512 dedicated card is plenty, yes.

However, integrated cards generally have much less than the advertised amount of actual usable video memory.
