    Hi.
I bought starcraft 2 CE just the outher day and when I got home my grafics card was fried
(I know! FML!) and the only one I could buy in my town that was kinda good was NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS GPU
do you guys think I could play Starcraft 2 on it? I know it is a bit below recomended but still?

If it's below the recomandation i would NOT buy it since for a little extra money you can order a graphic card online which does the job better.. the only problem is you have to wait 1-2 days before it arives, which is hard if you want to play SC2..

it only cost me 70$ so it is not that big of a deal. but I need a new computer all together but cant afford it until next month and I NEED to play asap. but the real question is CAN I play it on that card? I dont need to play it good I just need to play it for a few weeks.

OMG, $70 for this %&!? card? No way... The Geforce 8400 GS delivers only very poor 34 GFLOP/s which is significantly less than the 47 GFLOP/s a 6600 GT can deliver. The 6600 GT is the card mentioned in the minimum system requirements. I would not recommend to waste money on this.

You could, however, just order a new graphics card online and then build it into you new PC next month.

(GFLOP/s is the scale unit for a processor's or graphic card's computing power.)

...The 8400 GS usually costs just $20~30 online. It's a pretty sucky card and pretty much the only thing it's good for is HTPC use. For the price you paid, you could have gotten a GT 240 or HD 5570 before rebates both of which would work much, much, much better in SC2. Heck, even one of the newer integrated graphics (NVIDIA GeForce 9300 / ATI Radeon HD 4200 / Intel HD [Clarkdale]) would be faster.
