Apparently, since MGM is going broke, they won't be making the 23rd Bond film for the forseeable future. Full article is here. This makes me a sad panda. As a large Bond fan, the last three or so movies irked me, but hey, at least they were Bond. The fact that a Bond film has actually been cancelled just kills me.
I remember watching all of the Pierce Brosnan films as a kid - not so much for liking the James Bond franchise as for hanging out with friends, though I'd come around by the time I'd seen The World is Not Enough. It's a shame that we might not see any more Bond movies for the next couple of years
wait... MGM is low on money, so they decide to axe the biggest name and best guaranteed moneymaker they've got? ...well, looking at it backwards, it totally makes sense.
I couldn't care less for James Bond, as long as they make my Stargate stuff. They owe us 2 Atlantis movies and a new season of Universe,
Agreed. However, it's also a HUGE blockbuster style film, they have a new director, and Bond films are crazy expensive (this one had a budget of ~200 million USD).
I was never at all into Bond growing up unless you count Golden Eye 64. Just never saw any of the films. I did see the new Casino Royal though and really liked it a lot. So yes, this does suck.
Casino Royale sucked. >_> Try some of the older ones as well. You'd be amazed at how good the older ones are, even though they weren't made with as big of a budget.
