Good to select many building?

    I think they really should go back to the old way of selecting buildings. This will play a huge diffrence in the gameplay accordning to me. I belive they have said they want to put more of the game focus to the battle by doing this? But is this really the way people want it to be?

    Building selection is a great change they've made to the game. It helps a lot with the macro, and yet not enough to make it automated. I really don't see a big difference in selecting multiple buildings and one by one, just a convenience.

    what happens when you select different types of buildings, does only one type gets selected?

    No, you would only have to be able to select ONE type at a time, but multiple buildings of the same type is just fine, it would make i.e. targeting defensive buildings on the greatest threat at a time way easier.

    Also, the Zerg had a great advantage on the other races by enabling players to create every unit from just one building, (you didn't had to scroll over half of the map to get to some factory) while the Protoss and Terran players had to scroll all over the map to get to the building needed for a specific unit AND you had to select one building at a time... That sucked and this is the perfect solution.

    BUT --> How about the limit on creating units, when you selected a building in SC1, you could only build 5 units at a time, how about this now? Would they have to change the part where you see how many units are in production so that the bar would simply be longer or would they have to add a number indicating in how many buildings the production has started?

    i dont care that much about it, but if its in the game that would be nice,if its not *shrugs* thats ok too.
    i can see the advantages and the disadvantages of both, but its is all up to blizzard if they want it or not.

    To add to Fo®Saken's comment, not only did the Zerg produce everything at one building, you could select the larva for several buildings and order them to morph.

    --

    Being able to select multiple buildings is great, and critical for the effective use of warp in. I don't really thin SC2 would be as good as it is without little things like this.

    Blizzard should definitely have this in SC2, actually I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if it weren't in the game. Being able to select multiple buildings definitely makes things easier and puts the focus on actually fighting the enemy, not in the base trying to be efficient in training more marines. Hotkey'ing the buildings will also help in this, and I'm sure Blizzard will include that too.

    You mean like creating a building group instead of an unit group with control + a numer?
    That's what I already do in other strategygames and it always works really well, but I said before, the game would need to show you exactly how many units are in production and in how many buildings in some way, because you will easily get confused when building in several buildings at a time.
    (like in Age of Empires, where this system really sucks in my opinion)

    I think it's a great idea. And I think that you should be able to select more than one type of building at once and switch between the buildings you have selected to use their different functions, like in WCIII with units.

    building groups would be very helpful, you can simply press 1 then build a marine and 6 different barracks scattered across the map will all start to build it

    I really just want to be able to set all my production buildings to a single hot key but still have to then select wire frames one by one to build units. Always hated having to take my eyes off a battle to scroll/click back to base and build reinforcements.

    I think the Zerg should actually keep that advantage, isn't that the point of their unit production system to begin with? Double click your larva to build a shit ton of hydras all at once.

    I play Terran primarily in SC1, but you know "For the <b>Swarm</b>!" .

    Yes. It makes everything easier in a good way, this does so you can spend more time on battle which is good

    I like multiple building select because I have 10 hotkeys and more than 10 buildings

    yeah i would be surprised if blizzard didn't add this. it would make building so much easier and quicker.

    i like that you can grab alot of phase cannons and other defence buildings and tell them all to attack the same unit. no more having to tell them to attack manually. on the other hand one of the great things about being a pro at starcraft was being capable of grabbing buildings at the speed of light and telling them all to produce units extremely fast. so i think being able to grab many buildings at once will decrease strategy but increase convenience. it just goes down to what you enjoy more. are you a hard core strategy player or an average just wonna have fun player.
