Alright so I'm getting a new computer that won't suck like the one I have now (8 yrs old). Any reccomendations for good games out now or games that come out in the future? I mainly like FPS, RTS, and maybe RPG and also sports- or anything else that is fun. Right now the two games I am looking at are Empire: Total War and of course SC 2.

I recommend Spore, Diablo 3, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life Episode 3, and Dawn of War 2. None of those are out yet however. If you want some good games out right now you should get the Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Dawn of War, and maybe Crysis. Most of these games you should be able to play on a decent computer.

I suggest you buy the Orange Box. Half Life 2 may be a little old but it's definitely one of the best FPS's still out there. Apart from HL2, the Orange Box gives you HL2 episode 1, HL2 episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress.

BTW, you should only buy Crysis if you're really into crazy graphics, because other than that it isn't that great. The gameplay is interesting but not as good as HL2's. The Story sucks too. :D

If you're not prone to addiction, try an MMO. The interaction is fun. The Orange Box is epic. A couple good puzzle games are fun. The Myst series (Myst III, Exile, is amazing), Syberia are great for that

FEAR, Supreme Commander, Crysis *only for the looks, don't pay attention to the rest...*, Bioshock just to name a few.

Mass effect is out on PC now too, so you could give that a look.

But yea, there a lot of games that have a lot of promise for the PC that are not out yet. Like what has been mentioned above.

Dawn of War and the Orange box is not excatly pushing the visuals on a new computer or anything but they are decent games. The Dawn of war series that is out now is pretty dated now though, but Dawn of war 2 that is in development is catching up but I'm pretty sure Starcraft 2 will be out before it anyway.

Yea, there really isn't any good current generation RTS out.

I think Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander would be the only decent ones.

Command and Conquer 3 was fun but it can get old pretty fast and it is all the same kind of spammy strategies every time.

Company of Heroes is a great game. Not my kind, though, as it is completely micromanaging. With starcraft, there is the whole macro side of it...but CoH will not let you do that.

You should also get Far Cry 2. It's one of the most badass games I've seen in a long while.
