Hey folks! Welcome to my unofficial Gold Miner Faq. I have been champion of the game for 2 months now, the longest running champion in the arcade. I created this faq so people will know how the game is played and learn some new tactics. I really would appreciate if people would try to beat my score coz I would certainly love a challenge. Faq Log November 6, 2007 10:31pm Taipei Time - Creation of this faq. OVERVIEW Gold Miner is a flash game (although you may download the full version) that requires timing, patience and good planning. There will certainly be times of the game being annoying and frustrating but overall it is an enjoyable game to play and is suitable for people of all ages. Gameplay is easy and beginners can easily get hooked on it. The object of the game is help the gold miner to reel in and collect gold and other valuable objects to increase cash for level requirements. Collect as many cash as possible to achieve a certain amount before proceeding to the next level. Extra cash can also be used to buy useful items in the item shop in-between levels to help and aid you. There are various elements in the game that can cause a significant effect later so good planning is often required. Each level has an alloted time of 1 minute although you may end a level at anytime if you have gathered and fulfilled the level requirement. GAMEPLAY OBJECTS 1. Gold - Your typical gold. Collect as many of these as possible to progress through levels and use it to buy items. There are 4 types of gold to collect: Type 1: The smallest and lightest gold on the game. Its value is $50 and is, however, the hardest to get. Type 2: A little bigger and its weight and value is 2 times that of type 1. It has a fair chance of obtaining. Type 3: A large piece of gold. Its value is $250 and is also heavier than type 3. Has a good chance of obtaining. Type 4: A ridiculously big piece of gold with a value of $500. Although it is the easiest to get, it is also the heaviest 2. Rocks - Invaluable object, but it can also be sold. However, you may want to avoid this. Rocks have 2 types: Type 1: Size and weight is the same with type 2 gold but with a value of only $11. Type 2: A big rock with a weight the same as type 4 gold and with a value of only $20. 3. Skeleton Bones - Some guy's bones. Likewise invaluable objects. There are 2 types: Skull: Well, it's a skull and it's only $20. Leg Bone: A typical bone and is only worth $7. 4. TNT Barrels - Objects that explode upon contact. Other objects that are caught in its blast radius will be gone and other TNT barrels that is also caught in its blast will also explode, causing a chain reaction. Touching these things are very dangerous and frustrating so avoid it. You can collect its scrap but it's only worth $1. 5. Gophers - Annoying little moving creatures that also tend to get in the way. Each costs $2. 6. Diamonds - A highly valuable jewel that is difficult to get. It is as light as type 1 gold but has a value of $600. Collect as many of these as much as possible. 7. Gophers with diamonds - Although gophers should be avoided, some of these creatures carry diamonds on their mouths so go get these as often as possible. Obtaining it is much more difficult and is also much more annoying. Good timing and patience is the key. Its value is $602. 8. Grab bags - Bags that carry loads of surprises. Weight and contents may vary although object found in the bag can only be cash, dynamite and strenght boost. ITEM SHOP You can buy different kinds of items in the item shop that can help you in the next level so be wise on purchasing. All items, except the dynamite, can only be used in the preceeding level. List of items are: 1. Dynamite - this is the only item that carries on on every levels if it is not used so it is a good idea to have several of these. You can use it to blow off unwanted objects that you accidentally caught. 2. Lucky Clover - a 4-leaf clover that increases the chance of getting a good thing on grab bags. 3. Strenght Drink - the name itself says it all. Temporarily increases strenght for faster reeling. 4. Rock Collector's Book - this item increases rocks' value 3 times. 5. Diamond Polish - a very useful item that increases diamond's value by $300. That's about everything you guys need to know about the game. I hope you enjoy. HELPFUL TIPS Before reading this next section, I want you to agree that if ever you beat my score using these tips, I'll take %50 of your winnings. 1. Prioritize first valuable objects that are easy to get or within reach. This will help boost your cash early on the level. 2. Make use of every second on the clock. 3. Prices in the item shop change from time to time. If there are items that are cheap, especially dynamites, buy it immediately. There are times that Lucky Clovers has a price below $50 so it's a good deal. Still remember not to overspend. 4. Among the items to choose from, the rock collector's book is worthless and is a waste of money. 5. Get the grab bags only if it is the only one that is easy to obtain. If you are having a hard time getting one, discontinue it and get something else. It is disappointing to waste your time on a single grab bag only to find out that it only has $1. Having a lucky clover will always make the contents of the grab bag good. 6. If there's a chance that you have taken all the valuable objects in the game and you still have plenty of time left, use this time to take the rocks as well to boost further your cash. This will only happen if you got a strenght boost from a grab bag. 7. If you have grabbed a rock, wait for it to draw near another rock before blowing it up so you could also get rid of that rock, eliminating 2 rocks with 1 dynamite. This tactic will help you save some precious dynamites. 8. To make your diamond polish well worth the cost, try to memorize levels with at least 3 diamonds on it. This will also help boost your cash very quickly. 9. If several rocks are blocking the way and there's a TNT barrel, blow up the TNT barrel to get rid of nearby rocks. 10. If there are gophers that are near the gold miner, you might as well reel them in to avoid wasting too much time on trying to avoid them. 11. Try to finish each level completely without manually ending it to collect cash that will be needed for later use. Well, I hope you guys find this thread useful. Please feel free to send me some more information that I forgot to add to this faq and a few good gameplay tips will also be greatly appreciated. I'll be editing this thread from time to time for some changes in the future. Happy posting and happy gaming everyone!
Dude, youre rubbing it in...... LOL kidding, hard game and you need precision to win, with a little bit of strategy... now then..... (LOOK AT MY SIG! I COMMAND YOU! LOL)
I prefer Diamond Polish coz gem polish is suitable for the full version of Gold Miner coz there are other types of gems aside from diamonds.
