Just a map I'm making. I'll TRY to update this regularly. The main thing I'm considering RIGHT NOW is whether to use OUR world or a RANDOM world. More countries and wonders coming, This is the FIRST VERSION of the terrain. It was done in about 15-30 minutes with a Risk board, and needs a lot of work. Feel free to edit. If you have a better map of the world, please attach it here. Feel free to comment or suggest any ideas. Your opinion on which world I should use will be appreciated. Right now, I'm preferring the other world as I will not be as judged on whether the terrain looks like our world. Starting terrain NOW.
Well, not really Civilization, but inspired by Civilization World. So... Yeah. BTW play Civilization world sometime.
I guess this would be a good game. I like civ stuff. for the advanced zerg, i'd make it like a alien virus that scientists control. btw how many triggers do you have in the map?
Light, you haven't made a single post so far that I disagree with. Everything you like, I like, everything you support, I support... are you taken? Jk. Will there be any political/economical concepts outside of telling people you are allied/at war or simple gas/mineral trading? Stuff like... sea ports, natural resources, spies, propoganda? EDIT: Whenever you get a download link up, I'll add it to the database.
While you're at it, consider putting in things like random events, such as natural disasters. -Earthquake: Destroys target buildings in an area. -Nuclear Meltdown (Once a future-ish technology level is reached): Destroys target building. -Tornado: Jumps from building to building? I can see that happening. -Tsunami (Only for cities/etc. near the water): Damages buildings near the sea-side city/whatever. -Eat.Me.Returns: Player instantly loses. Pwned.
Meltdowns a good idea, adds risk to advancing. Maybe something too much buildings for reactors increases likelyness. thats probably a bit hard though.
I was thinking of this: ZOMBIE PLAGUE: If there is too much Zerg tech, a Zombie plague is unleashed. EDIT 1: ALIEN INVASION High Protoss tech attracts alien attention. Chance of friendlies or enemies. EDIT 2: Does anyone know how to make the picture made by SCMDraft 2.0 smaller?
and too much terran tech... The Matrix! Robots get so advanced they attack their creators. All mech goes to a computer player ownership, but the player gets a random hero from The Matrix series.
This is going to be a great map i think. although it seems kinda like the starcraft version of civiliazation world legacys that some people play time to time. the zombie plague, thats good, it should like spawn 30 zombies from each town. alien invasion, lots of carriers/scouts spawn from like the middle and attack outwards and make sure they visited every site. and the mechanicle revolt, wouldnt be very effective unless you have like an army of them. it should be like you find a secret robot city underground or some where which comes out of through a tunnel under every city and attacks! i like this idea. the nuclear melt down should happen if you have a lot of them togheter or like every 20 min or so. It should also have a radiation field that damages every unit untill they die. (.5x effective against toss cause they are robots(should kill any in range due to emp) and 2x vs zerg because zerg are biological) this is gonna be a sweet map!
Ugh, great. The more people that like my idea, the worse I'll feel. And yes, this was inspired by Civilization. Still love playing that map, but most people aren't that good, and I have only lost once, and the other times I never make it to the Nano Age. BTW, the robotic revolution feels more Protossy. LOL NEW WORD!
reavers cause they're manufactoring robots and pretty soon you'll have to make it a mod going by peoples suggestions.
If anyone still CARES about this project, I am currently completely remaking the terrain and units. Current Status: 1%(AGAIN) Delayed due to vacation.
