I think something good would be to be able to use the ghost skills from within a bunker! Cause right now you have to get your ghost out of it if you want to shoot a nuke to defend your base. It's kind of annoying and your ghost may recieve damage. So it would be totally cool!
All that keeps nukes from being OP is the ability to stop it by detecting and destroying the ghost in time. No way could you take down a bunker that quickly... this wouldn't work out. Also there's just no way in the UI to select units inside of a bunker.
Because nobody would assume there's a Ghost in the empty slot, right? /sarcasm But seriously, that's just way to overpowered, no matter how you try to balance it.
As a toss player i think ghost is way OP as it is. Instant 100 damage to all my units, plus energy drain? Come on.....
is there any way to get a game recorder for SC2. i wanna show my matches where a nuke spam and show how OP it can be
Only way for a nuke "spam" to be effective, is when your opponent is paying absolutely no attention. You can't expect to be able to build a whole bunch of them without being at serious risk. Spending so many resources on nukes basically means that your army will be a lot smaller, and it doesn't take a diamond player to find out what that means. If I were to scout a Terran player and notice he's building a lot of nukes, he'd be rushed and killed asap.
i posted this in the ghost thread but might as well put it here... i was just thinking what if the ghosts abilty of being invis can be toggled on or off, and having only such abilities such as the snipe or emp enabled depending in what mode he is in, this can even open more abilities to the ghost that i cant think of lol just a suggestion
So I was thinking... when my ghost gets stopped right at the end of the nuke channel, and it already shot out of the Academy, where does it go? Does it blow up in the sky realizing it will never reach its destination? I guess where I'm going with this is, I really care about the birds and I know nukes get stopped constantly. Poor guys
i was thinking that it would require no energy, only having certain abilities available to you when cloaked or uncloaked
i think it just falls down without detonating. even if it blew up in the sky it would take out a bunch of air units...
Infinite cloaking sounds like a terrible idea. The point of it as it is now, allows the opponent to see the ghost approach his base before the player is forced to cloak. You don't want to cloak too early or you'll run out of energy and be revealed, so the strategy is to cloak at the last moment and make it last. It would be extremely overpowered if the ghost were permanently cloaked. Perhaps he could piggy back an observer though?
Not to mention the fallout. Has blizzard offered explanation for why the blast radius is so tiny? Or why none of the biological units get radiation sickness?
The bomb just floats off into space cuz its lost its cordnates (like an RPG in MW2) and aem1 means like how the battle cruiser abiltys used to be, where you chose one ability and then thats all it had. (now it just has one)
...clean micro-nukes? maybe they're really tiny, and very efficient in their fission so there's very little radioactive substance left after the blast. but if they were that tiny and efficient, the ghost should just carry them in his backpack.
