If you don't know who Uwe Boll is, I'll tell you. He is the man behing every atrocious video game movie.(see Bloodrayne, Alone In The Dark, Etc.) He said if 1million people signed a petition to get him to stop making movies than he would.

Please sign, this guy says he is "the only genius in the whole fucking business". The movie business that is.

Why does it matter if he makes bad movies? Just don't go watch them. Problem solved.

That's just an opinion of his movies. There are obviously people who enjoy watching them otherwise he'd never get anyone willing to produce his movies. They're obviously making money meaning they're obviously being watched.
I guess that if he's misrepresenting certain games then there's a problem, but if he's got a reputation for misrepresenting those games people will know that they're being misrepresented.

EDIT: Just been going through some of the signatures..... Here's one:
Ouch! And I'm not just referring to the insult...

That doesn't prove anything. Someone could go on like that for any movie/movies. Also, as the guy practically said, it's the company's fault for selling their rights.
I'm not saying that he should be doing it or it's a good thing that he is or anything, I'm just saying if you don't like the movies, don't watch them. It's not as though he's reprogramming all their games or anything. It's not movies that make games fun, it's the games themselves.

This is, where he gets money from:
Movies directed by Boll have performed modestly to poorly at the box office in the United States. House of the Dead (budget: $12 million) broke $5.73 million on opening weekend,[4] Alone in the Dark (budget: $20 million) made over $5.1 million,[5] and BloodRayne (budget: $25 million) topped $2.42 million.[6]

In the DVD commentary of Alone in the Dark, Boll explains how he funds his films:
"Maybe you know it but it's not so easy to finance movies in total. And the reason I am able to do these kind of movies is I have a tax shelter fund in Germany, and if you invest in a movie in Germany you get basically fifty percent back from the Government."

Boll is able to acquire funding thanks to German tax laws that reward investments in film. The law allows investors in German-owned films to write off 100% of their investment as a tax deduction; it also allows them to invest borrowed money and write off any fees associated with the loan. The investor is then only required to pay taxes on the profits made by the movie; if the movie loses money, the investor gets a tax writeoff."
No one watches this sh*t and he still gets money...

Thanks for the explanation, Tetra Cerata. I didn't understand how it works.
In that case, seeing as there's no support for him but he's still making money and making more movies, there most definitely is a problem. Despite never having hear of House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark and BloodRayne, I have heard of, although never actually played, Half-Life and Metal Gear Solid, which he is supposedly going after next.
I'd just like to quickly contrast the Anti-Boll petition and the Pro-Boll petition...
    Anti-Boll: 158, 609 signatures.
    Pro-Boll: 1 signature.
Not looking too promising for him! :p

You can't compare them, the Pro-Boll petition was only made this morning, whereas the anti one was made a week ago.

Haha, calm down dude, I know they weren't made at the same time.
The Anti-Boll one was made a week ago? 158, 609 signatures is a heck of a lot for a week. You think that the Pro-Boll one will even compete?

And the anti-petition has almost 162,000 votes now.
I love this petition. He shouldn't be able to make money this way and his movies suck, of course. I almost passed out when he said he wanted to make the halo movie some time ago, but of course he didn't get the rights to do that.

NO NO NO not my beloved Half Life.... he'll probably make Gordan talk or something and ruin the entire movie. Or even worse change the storyline drastically....

Bumping old threads is fine but they have to be older threads. Meaning generally atleast 1 week should have past before a thread is bumped please keep that in mind in the future.
