Check out what he has to say about Starcraft 2. Read the rest of the interview at GameReplays.org here.
see a pro gamer love the graphics of sc2 and feels that it resemble much as the original starcraft. xp
Have we been denying it? I think the graphics look cool. They might be one of the best things that Starcraft II brings. Do you think they will set a lower standard for pro gamers? They make it somewhat easier for almost anyway do that now lol.
What exactly are MBS and auto mining? As for the graphics, I like that they are making it brighter and shinier, but some grittyness would make the game look more realistic.
Don't you have to set raly point to minerals or something first? The grittiness would give it realisim, they look like they have been just built by a person who carves names on rice (Meaning they take in ever detail to perfectionize.
i personally dont care about what a "pro" player thinks, as long as they remember that the mayority of the gamers are non pro, of curse everybody likes calling noobs the players that they can beat, but lets face it, probably none of us play for a living, so id like that blizz tried to make the game more fun and refreshing, and if they consider the pro players very important, then, why not to give them a version i which the auto mining is disabled, and the ability to select lots of units, because i hate only selecting 12 marines or zerglings etc. consider the casual players!
They would be wise to just make it a game option instead of releasing a complete version. But I think pro players might prefer using MBS, I think it would allow noobs to mass easier whilst not actually helping out pro's too much anyway... As for auto-mining, I agree that it simplifies things. In effect what Blizzard are doing is narrowing the gap between the newcomers and the pro's, but when pro players actually play in the tests that are ongoing they should make the best decision as to where auto-mining goes in how it effects the pace and direction of the games. I think I'd prefer it out.. but I'm sure others would like it in.
Jon I though MBS was Mass Building Select? It seems like something that makes more since to complain about. As far as my opinion goes Im similar to Sagathox while I think pro may (and I only say may) be able to help better balance the game, the majority of the games fans are not pro gamers and never will and they have no care to intentionally limit the in game UI just so it can be played by "professionals". In my opinion if you believe you are good enough to call yourself a "pro" you are adaptive enough to deal with anything added to the game.
It does refer to buildings, but its what they refer to in general about the mass anything select. Basically it's the mass anything select. LOL I always hear the pros complaining about the unlimited unit select currently in the build (as far as we know) and they call it the n00b MBS style.
Sorry, but I really don't give a monkey's uncle what pro players think. As otheres have aid, all the new gameplay features are to make the game more fun for everyone. Surely the new features shouldn't effect games too much. New skills will have to be learnt, that's all.
I like the auto-mining and the MBS, but I can understand that the "pros" are afraid of it. I think it will result in a lower macro use...
Select all your barracks, hotkey, there, now you have five marines a minute. Why would pros dislike the MBS? I'm prety sure, they don't like moving there fingers across the board to select your zerglings, then your lurkers, more zerglings, and hydralisk to attack the front all at once.
