Game freezes on opening mission

I have just installed this game and started the campaign game. Unfortunately, at the very beginning of the first mission, the game freezes. This happens every single time it is attempted.

Skirmishes seem to be working as intended however. I have not tested multiplayer, as I am rather poor at RTS games.

    Specs:

    Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit
    ATI 4890
    4gb ram
    AMD phenom x4 955 3.2 ghz
    Asus m4a79t

The graphics drivers were updated, but there was no change in the problem

are you sure it freezes? When I first tried the game, every single loading screen took AGES.

I am 100% certain, if I skip the cutscene/scripted in game scenes, I get to control the small group of units for about a third of a second, and then the game freezes. I have to use task manager to close the game.

I am currently reinstalling the game, so with some luck, hopefully the problem will be fixed.

Edit: Reinstalling did the trick; a new computer game purchase is never complete without several hours of trouble shooting.

  4. Hello,

I am having almost the exact same problem. I can play online matches without issue but the game freezes within the first 2 minutes of the 1st mission. Right before it freezes, weird graphical glitches appear.

I have updated all of my drivers as well as reinstalled the game but it did not work.

    My specs:

    Windows XP SP3
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40ghz
    4 gigs of ram
    GeForce 8800 GT

I can play other games such as L4D2 or Red Faction: Guerilla without problems.
