Gamble item

In the shop there is 1 item in the gamble category but
I can't see it. Why is that?

What are gamble items for?

When I press next on the bottom of the screen in the gamble category it goes to page two (also empty) and the three and on and on...
Maybe that gamble item opened a black hole? LOL

W00t, i wasn't freaking out! it was the only way to tell the world what happened.

Before I tell my tale, let it be known that there were 2 gambling items in the history of this forum. The first one most of you might remember, it was one of the first items on sale at the shop, but got cancelled like 3 months ago or so, due to causing server lag and generally being a pain in the @$$ for the adminestration. The principle of it was that by using it, you could either win or lose between 0-200 minerals, at random, and you could do that unlimited number of times. It was handy, as at those early times when minerals were first introduced, it was the only practical way to get them.

The second one in unfortunately based mainly on me:

One day, and I still remember that day, it was a sunny day, our admin had a great idea for a new gambling item. Sadly, as great as it was, he couldn't foresee the machiavellic actions of mine. Those were slow days then, when the forum was still in its infancy, barely 100 members or less. I was basically the only one online when the admin added the new item, and I was just checking the shop, and was consequently the first to buy it. The basis of this gambling was that you could steal a certain number of minerals from somebody's pocket, ranging from 1- to all of them. But there were a fair amount of chance the steal failing, and in that case, you would automatically lose 1 power level.
My greed surpassed my doubt. I bought it, and immediately started stealing like crazy. In barely 10 minutes I stole over 10 000 minerals, making me the richest member, and my power level was at -54. I didn't care about what people would think, I just concentrated on getting richer as fast as possible. After I decreased everybody pocket money to 1.23 or so,(interesting to note, I was not the only stealer, our Fenix also stole some, that bad guy, but he was smart enough to stop in time, and went barely unharmed). I decided quits and went on to brag, at what I realised i had ignored a important warning, which in time would bring my doom- for every - power level you have, you will be fined 300 minerals at the end of every week. That would definitely be more than my 10 000, so I was in a hopeless position. But then I got an idea- I would spend all my money on items, ( if i had no money, I could not be fined) and pay someone to + my power level. Stupidly, I told everybody about it. Oh why.
Having this all well planned out, I decided to go swimming, what a sunny day it was. I hoped to carry out my plan when i came back.

Coming back home in the evening, I went directly to the forum and got a message I would not expect in a million years. ''Due to abusing the shop system, you are temporarily banned for 5 days.'' That meant I could not post anything anywhere, expect for the liberal shoutbox.( I'm the first person to ever get banned on this forum) Turns out I was not banned for the stealing or the horrible power level (since I technically didn't break any rules) just for that I planned to spend all my minerals in order to avoid being fined. Not a very good reason to me, but it was what I deserved, and I knew it. All my stolen minerals were given back (which took a long time for the admin to do, he was very angry at me, also because all my stealing caused massive server lag), my items destroyed, the gamble item taken away from the forum forever, my power level brought to 0. I felt really sorry for what I did, so I deleted my account and took a 2 week break. Then i made a new account, the admin forgave me (hopefully, pretty please) and now I'm back here.

 

ROFL This is a very amusing story and it ended happily so I guess even sc2forums had a laugh at it later on. Taught him a lesson or two

I guess this is the reason we'll never see items that can alter other users' abilities.
