    Sonic Unleashed

Planned to be released late November of 2008, Sonic Unleashed is commonly refered to be the 3rd installment of the Sonic Adventure series. It will be playable on all three Next Gen consoles(Wii, xBox 360, PS3) as well as the PS2, and features both 2-D side scrolling platform gameplay, and 3-D gameplay.

During the nighttime hours of the game, due to the corrupted power of the Chaos Emeralds thanks to Dr. Eggman, Sonic transforms into a warehog, boosting his strength and abilities.

Sonic is the only playable character in the main stages of the game's story, unlike SA1 and SA2. However, other characters (including Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Shadow) will be used to complete optional minigames.

The game consists of nine levels, each based upon different parts of the world, the first level being based off of Greece; and another level involving running across the Great Wall of China.

    Sonic and the Black Knight

Planned to be released Spring of 2009, Sonic and the Black Knight is set in the time period of King Arthur, who has been corrupted to become the Dark Knight. The game is a Wii exclusive and features mostly 3-D gameplay but also has sections of 2-D platforming.

Sonic is the main playable character, but Shadow and Knuckles are also optional playable characters.

Gameplay includes the new element of swordplay, similar to Shadow the Hedgehog having guns. Sonic's speed does not slow when swinging his sword, but against stronger enemies, players can engage in advanced swordsplay, able to thrust, parry, and even perform a buzz-saw while in mid-air.

Players can collect 'elements', red being springs, yellow being speed boosts, and purple filling up your gauge to preform combo attacks.

    Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood

Planned for release late September of 2008, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is a sonic RPG and is only for the Nintendo DS, and is developed by an American Game developer; Electronic Arts (EA).

Playable characters include Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Big, and E-123. The game will feature areas and music from previous Sonic games, such as Green Hill Zone, Mystic Ruins, Emerald Town and Central City.

Each character has a store of special attacks, some only usable if certain other members are in the battle. Experience points will boost one of four attributes per character each time the level up: speed, attack, defense, and luck.

Characters will also be able to collect and equip Chao, to enhance a team member's status on the battle field.

I've always wanted a Sonic RPG. So if it gets some decent reviews, I'll have to buy it to try it out.
