Hey guys, here are the results from a few hours of programming: The Blizzard Image Downloader. Basically, choose what image content you want, and the program will automatically begin transferring it to your computer. Nothing too serious, but immensely helpful. Just let it run in the background while it downloads files, and when it's finished, browse through the images at lightning speed.

Currently, it retrieves the following images:
    Blizzard Fanart
    Blizzard Concept Art
    SC2 Propaganda Artwork
    SC2 Blizzard Artwork
SC2 Blizzard Screenshots (From both the old site AND the new site)
    SC2 WallPaper

    Diablo3 Blizzard Artwork
    Diablo3 Blizzard Screenshots
    Diablo3 WallPaper
    Cataclysm Blizzard Artwork
    Cataclysm Blizzard Screenshots

for a grand total of 3078 images.

    Anyways, here's the download link:

    Enjoy!

Note: You can also browse through these images using the SlideShower, which can be downloaded here:
    http://vipersrt3g.com/marinepower/SlideShower.jar.

It allows you to examine your downloaded images to your heart's desire in fullscreen and in full size. Just select a directory, and cycle through the images at any pace you want with the arrow keys. (Or press spacebar to go into windowed mode). You can even use it to view animated gifs! Cool!

Yeah, you don't even need to go to the fanart page. Just run the application, select what you want to download, and it will take it from there.

I fail to see how this is a map, replay, or mod. I'm going to recommend it gets moved. Great program, though. I haven't tried it yet, but I bet I will in the near future. This is kinda off topic, but I played cremelian wars a long time ago too. :D

Ha ha, yeah, I had no idea where to put a thread like this so I just stuck it here. I mean... it's kinda sc2... and it's kinda a mod. (A mod of "getting images the old-fashioned way").

Good to hear that you still remember Cremelian Wars. Now that it's summer, I have ample time to continue developing it, so you can count on updates and new features in the near future. Oh, and the best part is that I have obtained a virtual private server, which means that multi-player could become a possibility very soon.

It would be great if a mod could move this. The downloader is a fairly useful piece of software that could aid a lot of users, so I would like to have it not go to waste simply because it's difficult to find. Thanks.

Moved to Graphics, Wallpaper, Fanart, Signatures, etc.

Good stuff imo. I like having libraries of nifty images to cycle on my 2nd screen wen doing stuff. Thumbs up.

    Thanks, I appreciate it.

By the way, I also finished up the second part of the bundle, the SlideShower, which displays the images one at a time in full screen. I don't have a dual monitor, so if someone who does could try it out and report the results it'd be awesome.

Slideshower doesn't do so grand on a Dual Monitor setup, simply cause if I click anywhere, it exits.

Ah, thanks for testing. I see what you're saying, but I don't really a see a practical solution for it.

It could, for example, keep requesting window focus, but that would draw away from whatever you're doing on the other monitor. The only thing that might be helpful is automatically cycling pictures once the window has lost focus. That way, the user could continue to view images even while working on something else.

Yeah, that's what the program I use does. It's no biggie really, and it works great on a single monitor. Most things don't work properly on 2 monitors anyway

I just make my background cycle periodically with a program called ScrollViewer or something like that. It means I have to have the same background on both screens, but since I usually have one screen covered with whatever I'm doing anyway (and the other covered too if that act is "map-making") it works well. I'd use your program on my laptop except there's VERY little space left on my hard-drive on this computer.

Well I got the background set, but the pics aren't exactly the right resolution.

Then it's just chillin the middle of a blank space, and that is silly. I have dual monitor wallpapers.

32:10 is my ratio that I use.

Anything that has a ratio of 32:10. 3360x1050 would be native, but meh.

If your resolution is 3360x1050, would it work if you retrieved a couple 1680x1050 images that are offered, and then simply chained two of them into a single 3360x1050 image? That way, you could have two different wallpapers for each of your monitors.
