I am soo fustrated by the fps i'm having during games. But I would only start fps lagging when mass units come in. Usually in games like marine arena, evolves, or late games of sotis, or just 3v3 and 4v4 that I drop down to about 1 fps . I run everything at LOW settings. I'm running an HP pavilion m8457c with an AMD Phenom-9500 X4 (Quad Core) 2.2GHz Geforce Nvidia 8400 Video Card 5 GB RAM At first I thought it was my video card So I installed An Asus Geforce GTS 450, while the graphics looked a bit better the fps still dropped to 1 in mass games. Then I returned the Video card and tried to upgrade the processor. I then installed an AMD Phenom II X4 955 (Quad core) 3.2 GHz I attempted to play those mass games once again but the fps still dropped to 1. I think it even lagged worst than the regular CPU i had!! What could I do to stop this annoying fps drop??
okay now i have another problem, I just returned everything to default as I had it before but now I'm lagging worst than before I made any changes at all! The heatsink fan has been unusually quiet now, but before it was loud. I did add thermal paste this time as before after I removed the default CPU from the fan I found there was only little left. But now according to my computer the processor is running more poorly than it did before I made any changes...
It's entirely possible to have too much paste... And make sure you're using stuff for boards and not just the regular grease gunk
I dont think its the paste, I just check the core has only been around 35 C. I'm guessing before i removed the cpu it already lacked thermal paste thus causing it to overheat and thus causing the loud fan speeding up. But i can't explain why the processor won't work as much as it did. Now I can't even play 1v1 without dropping to 5 fps.
Is it just multiplayer? Another thing, open up task manager, run the game for a little while, then check out the performance tab... See if all your cores are running, check out your RAM consumption, that stuff.
