So, Firefox has been taking ungodly amounts of RAM on my system. No surprise eh? What was surprising is the amount (half a gig plus). So, when I stumbled upon this website, it was pretty damn awesome. Followed a few of their tweaks, uninstalled Cooliris, and now I'm running at 1/6th of what I was.

    Good stuff there.

I think is something wrong with your software and maybe spyware/viruses... I used firefox 3 on 256 rams a long time.. Of course, it depends on what you're doing on firefox, but is hard to believe firefox takes 512+ if you don't have spyware/viruses/malicious software in your system..

I have like a million billion addons and extensions and themes.

I could run vanillafox on itty bitty, but where's the fun in that?

I'm a proud Chrome user. Simple and fast.

I would switch to Chrome in half a heartbeat once they have addons. I mean seriously. No AdBlock Plus? No TabMix? Plus the whole tabs over menu bar irks me

My FF eats all my CPU power when at the portal here, I don't know why. No RAM issues here either, although I only have what, 3 extensions? Or something along those lines. The ones you listed in #5... I could of course google them but... I know you feel like summing them up for me :> because they sound outright redundant to me :D

AdBlock+ kills ALL banner ads, popups, inbrowser windows. It's cool. None of those Flash viri. And you can disable them on certain sites, so you can still clicky and give them monies.

TabMix just gives you way more control over your tabs. For instance, I can 'Protect' my SC2 tab so when I 'Close all tabs', it doesn't close. It also gives me more control over switching tabs, web usage, stuff like that. I'm a huge control freak with my PC, so...

Also, I think it's weird how like East Europe uses :> and :< instead of the classic parenthetical smilies.

I still get a few things that get through Adblock plus on certain websites. It covers about 90% of things but there are those rare few that can get through every now and then. Thankfully my anti-virus and anti-spyware etc catch it.

However, If I use Opera instead of Firefox nothing gets through at all even on the websites that get through adblock plus on Firefox. Firefox isn't that all secure anymore since it has become so popular.

I don't have any adblocks or antivirus, am using FF and this system's been spotless for about 4-5 years now.

As for the smile, I picked it up on Wormnet. I'm not from Eastern Europe, okay? :<

By physical definition anything East of Germany would be East Europe...
