When I rebooted 1½ hour ago something happened and Firefox died. I have tried reinstalling multiple versions and deleting all the old files but nothing works. Can anybody help me? If I can't get FF to work, what browser do you recomend me to get instead?

I get no error message or anything. The program starts (I can see it in the task manager) but shuts down immediately.

You might have a killcode accidentally set up for non-allowed internet programs. If you can't get FF, I recommend the newest version of IE.

How do I set up a killcode like that? And why would it suddenly do that to FF when It never did that before?

Unfortunately I can't upgrade to the latest IE, I'm stuck at IE 6.

You don't, you computer does to 'protect your computer'

    Windows is hardcore like that.

And why are you 'stuck' at IE6?

Uhm. In that case, try Chrome?

The few things I have heard about Chrome so far have been all bad. Have you tried it yourself? What have you heard about it? What about Opera or Safari?

I always use Opera and I love it. But I am no expert with such things, so I do not know what it cannot do.

Knowing myself I'd go for a format. That solves everything: gets back the outstanding browser Firefox is, speeds up Windows, and also gets rid of files you'd otherwise go "hmm I might need this some time" when in actuality they're a waste of space.

I still suggest you try Opera. I have firefox and the latest I.E. but they just dont compare.

If you end up not liking Opera, I'd give Chrome a try, I got a it a few weeks ago, and i'm really happy with it. Its a little odd at first as you don't have a title bar, just tabs across the top. But it is really fast, and uses less memory then FF or IE, at least for me, I have heard others say it uses more. Plus with no title bar you can see more of a page, which is nice for those of us too lazy to scroll. ;)

Chrome = still my favorite program besides Starcraft, Warcraft III, and Spore on my computer.

    Oh, and Paint.NET.
